Over 250K sign pledge to boycott ‘Homo Depot’
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/09/250k-sign-pledge-boycott-homo-depot/

Over 250,000 people have signed an online pledge to boycott The Home Depot for its "sponsorship and participation in homosexual events," according to the American Family Association (AFA).

In July of 2010, the AFA announced it was launching a nationwide boycott of The Home Depot.

The AFA is a non-profit organization that advocates traditional family values and the reform of American culture "to reflect Biblical truth on which it was founded."

4. Uh, Home Depot CEO is a right-wing piece of garbage.
Edited on Wed Sep-29-10 05:41 PM by louis-t
I'll try to find a link with his smarmy quotes.

Sorry, the piece of garbage I was talking about was replaced in 2007. Robert Nardelli was replaced by Frank Blake. Nardelli was a big bush supporter.

13. Nardelli is gone.... Blake is in...
things might be very different. I'm watching and waiting. Let us know if any DUer finds out they still support the rightwingnuts.

Blake sure sounds different than that arrogant asshole Nardelli.... or the founder Berney Marcus

"I'm Frank Blake, the new CEO for The Home Depot. I've read a number of the postings on the MSN message board (unfortunately, there were a lot of them), and we've dispatched a dedicated task force -- working directly with me -- that is ready and willing to address each and every issue raised on this board. Please give us the chance.
There's no way I can express how sorry I am for all of the stories you shared. I recognize that many of you were loyal and dedicated shoppers of The Home Depot . . . and we let you down. That's unacceptable. Customers are our company's lifeblood -- and the sole reason we have been able to build such a successful company is because of your support. The only way we're going to continue to be successful is by regaining your trust and confidence . . . and we will do that.
We've already taken steps to cure many of the ills discussed on this message board:"

15. Nardelli = POS
I sent them my card because of that A-hole. After getting to know some HD employees I learned that they ALL pretty much hated the guy.
In the mean time I've learned that all vets get a 10% discount everyday on everything.... Things change>> I'm back!

5. Home Depot was a big supporter of Bush.
This is starting to look like the right eating their own.

Myself, I go to Lowe's instead whenever possible.

10. I have Loew's and HD right near each other. I generally go to Lowe's because it
seems to me they carry higher quality items when I do comparisons to HD.

7. Keeerist. Another brain-dead, self described "reform" movement.
>>>>>The AFA is a non-profit organization that advocates traditional family values and the reform of American culture "to reflect Biblical truth on which it was founded.">>>

Anyone else notice that the word "reform" has morphed ( in the last decade or so) to describe the *opposite* of reform?

Any linguists on board this evening? What's going on here?

Have at it if you will.

11. And how many of those "signatures" represents a real person?
Versus how many jackass Freepers went back and "signed" it 10 or 20 times using made up names to inflate the count?

12. I wonder if they are boycotting FRC also after Reker's rentboy went public
Since Reker was on FRC's and NARTH's payroll, doesn't that mean they are supporting homosexual prostitution?
