What steps have you taken to save money during this economy ...

we currently use a pay as you go cell phone ... (save a lot on this ... we didn't come close to using the minutes each month ...)

basic cable ... 8.00 per month ....

coupon like heck ....
just bought 80.00 worth of food ... saved 50 dollars .. paid 30.00 .....
I can give you guys a list of websites for downloading coupons ....

ya know ... It isn't like it is a huge thing.... will probably keep this up
no matter what happens to the economy ....

1. I took my way past due date pregnant daughter

shopping at the discount grocery in her village. noticed every woman there held lists in hand and all were mentally running the tab in their carts. I generally shop costco and get great deals, but folks on tight budgets cannot. I was cost comparing while there and incredibly disappointed to see much of their stuff was eat or freeze by TODAY, fresh vegetables and fruit were really ripe, and most items were not the jumbo size, like shampoo, dish and laundry soaps.
We decided that we will gather weekly and communally shop and divide the costco stuff. It's really hard on kids now days trying to make it on $12.00/ hour, always less than 40 hours a week, but they realize they're lucky to have jobs, not be homeless etc.
