Democrats agree to block Obama nominees
In a stunning alliance between Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans, Senate Democratic leadership quietly agreed Wednesday evening to block President Barack Obama from making recess appointments while senators return home to campaign for midterm elections, according to a Congressional newspaper.

1. And it's just inexcusable that the democratic base
isn't doing cartwheels in anticipation of the mid-term election.

Somehow, the will of the base feels an an awfully lot deeper underground.

2. Wow, just wow. And people on here wonder
why there are so many pissed off people on this site and elsewhere.

And I jokingly said yesterday that Dems would begin really pushing for fillibuster reform and doing away with it as it sits now, only when Republicans had control and dems were in the minority.

It doesn't seem so joking now though.

7. Our DEM leaders
are their own worst enemies. Many of our elected officials need to grow a pair, if you know what I mean.
And, yes, that is why some are POed. It's as if the DEMS just want to hand Congress over the the Repubs. What's the difference? Both parties are only in it for themselves.

5. A new twist on "bipartisanship"
I wonder who Obama had been considering for recess appointments?

6. What I don't understand is what is the point of any recess appointments
when Congress goes home to campaign???

The appointments will only last until the new Congress starts back up. And there is a new one right after an election. Is about 3 months worth it???

10. They did the same thing to Bill Clinton. It was the Blue Dogs/DLCers who were his own
worse enemy, and yet he spent most time appeasing them. It's like Stockholm Syndrome!!!
