If we lose seats in the House this year, the bright side is those seats |
|
are virtually all Blue Dog seats. So in reality there won't be that much of a loss. Some of their campaign ads are bragging about how Republican they are. I saw one where it showed a picture of him and Boner side by side and the ad says I voted with the Minority Leader 80% of the time..I hope he loses.......The lesson to be learned from the Tea Baggers if they do indeed win any seats is that you must be true to your ideological core and not try and be the mirror of the other Party..When Republicans were wiped out in '06 and '08, what they took from that was they were not far enough to the Right...The most Progressive members of Congress are not in much danger of losing their seats only those that are trying to play both sides...

2. It depends on how those districts are drawn. |

The best scenario would be two Blue Dogs in proximity being cut down to one.

It means John Boehner, not Nancy Pelosi, will be setting the agenda in Congress. Those Blue Dogs may not vote with us all the time, but they provide the numbers that allow us to do lots of stuff.

And don't forget Feingold in the Senate. The Democrats' political incompetence will likely sweep out our best progressives.

6. So Democrats in blue dog districts are what? |
|
only 4/5ths of a Democrat? Not pure enough for you?, so you advocate for the lose of Democratic seats in violation of the board rules in favor of what exactly?

9. No bright side to losing seats in the House. If we lose control |
|
of the House the next two years are going to be a living hell for Obama. Rethug luminaries like Darrell Issa and James (my next thought will be my first) Sensenbrenner have already announced that they intend to do nothing but hold hearings intended to paralyze Obama and destroy any Democratic initiatives that have survived. Likewise the Queen of the Crazies, Michelle Bachmann. Can you imagine a H of R with these clowns as committee chairs??

They provide the numbers that allow us chairmanships and control of agendas. It is not the House that has been the obstacle to our goals.
