"AAA members, we’d like to remind you that as of Thursday, September 30, it will be against the law for anyone to type, read or send a text message while driving in Massachusetts.

Motorists also cannot access the Internet in their cars from any mobile device. And sixteen and seventeen year olds cannot talk on cell phones at all when they drive – only in the event of an emergency.

The texting ban is good news for Massachusetts motorists. Thanks to the new law, we’ll all be safer on the roads, because distracted driving is dangerous. So remember, don’t text and drive - it’s the law."

I agree with the intent, but c'mon - this is already covered by existing law. Banging out a txt behind the wheel? Reckless (not wreckless) driving. New law is just not needed. Enforce the existing ones.
