With Rahm gone will the Administration still follow the "Everything is Negotiable" pattern? |
|
To me not "everything" is negotiable.. There has to be some core values, somethings that are truly Democratic Values that just can not be negotiated on..Is there such a thing or is that just ... so yesterday? I don't really know anymore what the Democratic Party represents.....I used to think I did, but it sure does not seem the case anymore...When Anti-Abortion Democrats keep Health Care for the people hostage unless an anti-abortion amendment is put into it, When a foreign "war" the very great majority of Americans oppose, gets escalated and the Torture Chamber known as Gitmo stays in operation, it is difficult to really know anymore just what Democrats stand for..

1. You betcha. They are just changing the "frontman" not the policy. |
|
Basic human values are NOT negotiable to me and they never will be. That is why this "everything is negotiable" philosophy and alleged "pragmatism" deeply disgusts me. I became a Democrat because I support Democratic Values. I never agreed to "bargain" them away for the sake of the self interest of a few politicians. If I wanted to have no values, I would be a Republican.

3. Rahm Is Responsible for the Ugliness |
|
If his goals were supported, then he wasn't the only one to blame.
I'd love to know what motivated Rahm to leave the sinking ship. Or if he was pushed.

6. Yes, the pattern will remain. |
|
I don't blame Rahm for it. Obama has always been in favor of everyone getting along. I think he's a negotiator by nature.

7. I don't mind reasonable negotiations |
|
But there is such a thing as being so open-minded that your brain falls out. The Democrats need to recognize a lot sooner the point at which there's nothing more to negotiate, and just forge ahead with their program. We the people elected them and put them in the majority for a reason.

8. What "core values?" Everyone's opinion on that will differ. |

And since we never March in Lockstep that will be even more true.

9. Nothing will change much because of this. Obama is and always has been the President, not Rahm. n/t |
