Joe Miller deletes his Tweets...but NOT before they were captured by Lisa Murkowski
September 30, 2010 04:00 PM

Ah, Joe Miller. You are about to learn that pride goes before the fall.

By karoli

For all the whooping over how Republicans and the Tea Party leverage social media, they sure are good at leaving their gaffes out there for everyone to see. You can't make this stuff up...check out Joe Miller's tweets last night, now deleted.

In case you can't read the small print, it seems that Tea Party Joe is visiting Washington DC and the DC Tea Party. While he's there, he wants to shop for office furniture, house hunt, and look into name plaques for his door. He's also looking forward to meeting his "future colleagues".

Not so fast Joe. Those tweets, now deleted, were caught by "WriteInLisa", or Lisa Murkowski, who is running a strong write-in campaign. According to Nate Silver, she just might win, too. While Murkowski's campaign does not bode well for Scott McAdams, the Democrat running in the race, it does marginalize Miller and leave him in second place.

I am no Lisa Murkowski fan, but I confess this anyway. I will enjoy shoving these arrogant, presumptuous, even contemptuous tweets in his face when he loses. Because it is so utterly entitled.

1. Why would Murkowski's campaign hurt the Dem worse than the Teabagger?

4. Miller is not popular with nonteabag Republicans and Independents. Murkowski is.
Democrats hate Murkowski less than they hate Miller. So I suspect that there will be some cross-over votes for her just to keep Miller out of DC as well.

7. wouldn't voting for McAdams be more effective?

8. It was, until Murkowski reentered as a write in.
I was excited about the idea when she was considering the write-in run but before she declared, thinking as you do that it would split the Republican vote. My friends from Alaska schooled me in the reality that she would erode McAdams' support more than Miller's. That has proven to be the case. Interpret this to mean Miller's support is almost exclusively astroturf fertilized with teabags and cultivated by teabaggers.

Alaska will be blue someday, but not today.

9. This Alaskan is voting for Scott McAdams!
This is when Democrats have to stick together. Granted, I would prefer Murkowski over Miller, but this may be our chance and I'm taking that chance.

I changed my party affiliation for the first time in my life to be able to vote for Murkowski. Other Dems thought Scott could beat the teabagger and it backfired on them. I met Scott a couple of weeks ago and he will be good for Alaska. He is smart and doesn't owe anyone anything. What a novel thought.....having a Senator not bought and paid for by corporations.

I hope you don't have too many friends in Alaska.

10. If I were there, I would too.

I will be there to vote in 2012, so there is that.

Edit: My friends are voting for Scott too, we were just discussing general voting trends. It is their opinion that many Republican leaning voters would have crossed over to vote for McAdams vs. Miller. Murkowski muddies that mix.

5. the same reason why Rubio is winning in FL
The sane vote is being split - leaving the teabagger as the frontrunner.

3. Arrogant is the word.
What if Miller's sure because the race is fixed? I hope that's not true, but what else would explain such presumption?
