Please, please, please donate to defeat BACHMANN and elect
a true, thoughtful, hardworking, progressive Tarryl Clark.

Take a look at her website, her videos, her commercials. You will be impressed.

PLEASE.

(Sorry for shouting but this matters so much to those of us in the 6th District in Minnesota.)

4. within single digits and within
the margin of error. I'm hearing internal polls are good. Bachmann has never run this hard against everyone which leads me to believe their internal polls are similar.

This is the best candidate we've ever had.

2. I've heard Ms. Clark in a few radio interviews,
and I like her and what she had to say. I'm strapped for cash right now, but I will go there and do what I can. :hi: Good luck to her.

3. Just got an email from the Clark campaign.
"With just 4 hours to go before the last major fundraising deadline of this campaign, I'm hoping I can count on you to dig deep and help us fuel our grassroots campaign as we head into the final stretch. I'm pleased to report that we just passed that initial goal - but I need you to help us keep up our record-setting pace! The stakes are too high to let up now.

Can I count on you to contribute today?

For months now, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has attacked me in ad after ad. She's called names, pointed fingers and made wild accusations about me and about my record. She's brought in the big guns like Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin to fill her campaign coffers so that she can keep her attack machine running.

When Bachmann's first attack ad began running, we set a goal of raising $239,000 online this quarter - as much as the ad cost. We made our initial goal, but I need you to keep our record-setting pace.

Your contribution right now can help us smash our goals and send a message to Bachmann that we're in this to win it!

I'm running for Congress because the 6th District deserves someone who represents them, not the big corporations and special interests that have hijacked Washington.

And I'll keep fighting every day between now and Election Day because a few national extremists with oversized voices cannot drown out the real people with real concerns here in the 6th District.

Are you ready for the fight? Are you ready to win?

In just 4 hours we'll close the books on the last full fundraising quarter of this campaign. Pundits and press will scour our numbers and judge whether our campaign can compete with the Bachmann extreme machine.

I need your donation now to show the nation that we are ready to fight and ready to win.

Thank you, in advance, for standing with me."

5. Garrison Keillor wrote a letter asking for donations to Clark
He says that Michele Bachmann is an embarrassment to the people of Minnesota. He says she runs around the country grandstanding and talks on fox about small government and things that she knows nothing about. She was interviewed and could not name one thing she had done for the people of the sixth district. While they have the most foreclosures and unemployment in the whole state. He really laid in on her. And told the difference in Tarryl Clark and all the things she has done for the state.

The whole letter can be viewed at www.huffingtonpost.com

Distressing news tho. We are not going to loose a representative so I guess Bachmann's 6th district won't be divided up for the next election.

6. An email earlier today from Garrison Keiller titled "Defending Lake Wobegon"
Dear Friends,

Thirty years ago, when I started telling stories about Lake Wobegon, I put it smack in the middle of Minnesota - in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, in fact - where staunch Republicans and loyal Democrats know how to live together without yelling at each other and do what needs to be done to work out our problems.

It's embarrassing to me and a great many Minnesotans that Michele Bachmann, a politician who is so busy grandstanding and giving interviews on Fox News that she doesn't have time to serve the people who elected her, represents the 6th District in Washington.

That's why I'm proudly supporting Tarryl Clark - and I hope you will join me by contributing before today's midnight deadline.

Minnesota's 6th District has some of the highest foreclosure and unemployment rates in the state, but in an interview with the St. Cloud Times, Congresswoman Bachmann was unable to name any "substantive" legislation she had passed.

Michele Bachmann may still be counting on sliding through to re-election on November 2nd, but this year she is running against a smart and hard-working State Senator, Tarryl Clark, who is determined to make the talking heads of Fox News sit up and take notice.

Tarryl founded Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity and served as youth minister of her church for nearly twenty years. She grew up in a Navy family and has worked on behalf of veterans, families and children in the legislature. Service to her community is a part of who she is, and that spirit of service is sorely needed in Washington these days.

I hope you'll join me in making a financial contribution to her campaign - $25, $50 or $100 - before midnight tonight!

Tarryl Clark will never embarrass our state in Congress. Let's restore some respect for the Minnesota tradition of working together sensibly by electing her this November.

Thank you,

Garrison Keillor

P.S. Instead of working to solve problems, Bachmann talks about us as a "nation of slaves" and about the need for smaller government even though she knows better - the biggest part of big government is military spending, Social Security, and Medicare. Which would she do away with? Bachmann's so-called policies are just the old Bush economics that Alan Greenspan characterized as "disastrous." Help Tarryl defeat her by donating today.

7. Sorry, but no...
I don't begrudge anyone fighting for progressive principles in a hostile environment, and if this was summer-time I'd be more open-mined, but with a month to go, we have to be realistic: some candidates are proving to be competitive, and others are not. I've studied the races hard (and have contributed $60,000 to about 40 of them as well as DCCC, DSCC and State Parties), and unfortunately Tarryl hasn't shown enough strength in either fundraising (Bachmann out-raised her 3:1 in the last quarter) or in closing the polling gap. Every rating group sees this as a SOLID REPUBLICAN race, and 538 gives Michele a 98% probability of re-election.

The bottom line is that there are dozens of races that are competitive and are in need of money. Additionally, with a month to go, State parties need money for turnout operations, particularly in toss-ups like Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. Contributing your money to a race like this, may make you feel good, but it's not going to help our bottom-line in November.

9. Tarryl has raised more money than any other congressional challenger ever
in Minnesota. Bachmann outraised her, but Bachmann is an incumbent and the insane crowd is donating to her. But to say that Clark has not shown strength is absolutely wrong. More people have donated to her than ever before here in Minnesota.

12. I'm not saying people aren't contributing to Tarryl...
...I'm saying it's not enough. As of July, Tarryl had $798,378 and Michelle had $2.4 million. Certain Tarryl's added to that since, but so has Michelle.

Look, we couldn't knock off Bachmann in 2008 when we won in a wave. How likely are we to beat her when we're facing a headwind?

16. Facts
by: Tarryl Clark for Congress
Wed Jul 07, 2010 at 11:43:21 AM CDT
I'm Zach Rodvold, Campaign Manager for Tarryl Clark's campaign for Congress.

I have some exciting news to share - news that is only made possible by the strength of our grassroots support from people like you.

Today, our campaign announced that we have now raised over $2 million in our effort to defeat Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, including just over $910,000 in the 2nd quarter of 2010 alone - including over $190,000 raised online!

To put this in perspective, no previous Minnesota congressional challenger has ever topped the million dollar mark by this point in the campaign. We matched and then doubled that record - and we did it with a grassroots fundraising base now over 24,000 individual donors strong. These are amazing numbers.

Tarryl Clark raises $910K in second quarter
by: The Big E
Wed Jul 07, 2010 at 08:53:42 AM CDT
Tarryl Clark reported her second quarter fundraising numbers today. As expected, her numbers kicked butt. She raised $910,000 from 24,000 individuals and has raised $2M so far. Clark faces Rep. Michele Bachmann in the MN-06 race.

Tarryl Clark's campaign for Congress today announced that it surpassed $2 million in fundraising in its efforts to unseat incumbent Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, having raised just over $910,000 in the 2nd quarter of 2010.

Today's announcement marks another record-setting quarter for Clark's challenger campaign. To date, the campaign has raised over $2 million from an incredible 24,000 donors contributing an average of just $54. Clark's thousands of low-dollar donors create a grassroots army that can continue to support Clark all the way through November, on the ground and with their checkbooks.

Clark continues to set an unprecedented pace in the 6th District race - no previous Minnesota congressional challenger had even topped the million-dollar mark by this point in the campaign.

14. I mailed off another $20 to her today
in addition to the automatic Visa donation I'm making every month.

I usually don't waste time wishing I was rich, but since $$$=speech now, I sure feel I don't have much of a voice, not being a mega-national corporation, and all.

23. I can't afford to send much, but send what I can hoping other
decent Dems (who have more wherewithal than I) will do the same, proportionately.

If all Dems in Iowa sent the proportion of their income I'm sending, Tarryl wouldn't even need funds from Minnesotans.
