Meet Your New Corporate Masters
Edited on Thu Sep-30-10 10:38 PM by McCamy Taylor

Karl Rove’s Super Pac, American Crossroads, is set to buy the 2010 Congressional midterm elections, with a nationwide media blitz of messages that talk about jobs and taxes . This is, of course, more Karl Rove bait and switch. Rove’s promises are always bull---and he always delivers shit. In 2000, he promised the nation a Patient Protection Act modeled on that passed in Texas. Instead, AG Ashcroft got the Texas law struck down in federal court. Rove promised no more Kosovos---even though the Bush team was already planning to invade Iraq. In 2004, Rove promised right wing voters an end to gay marriage---and then turned around and tried to privatize Social Security. He offered to give the corporate media unlimited merger opportunities, if they would bury the presidential election exit polls. We all know what happened to that promise.

American Crossroads promises jobs. But, in January 2011, this is what they will deliver.

Meet Your New Corporate Masters!

The billionaires who are funding American Crossroads are not your usual wealthy American businessmen. These are some real slime balls.

Charles Linder kills his employees using terrorists. Linder funded right wing death squads in Colombia in order to keep Chiquita Banana’s profits high. That’s right. This billionaire does not just break strikes---he murders strikers. And then, he murderers their families, to make sure they get the message.

Trevor Rees-Jones barbecues his employees Rees-Jones, of Chief Oil and Gas, has given not one but two million dollars . This guy really needs some friends in high places right now. Remember the Marshall County, West Virginia gas well explosion that injured seven people and raised serious questions about the safety of urban gas drilling ? Those are Rees-Jones employees who got roasted on the job.

Robert Rowling who controls Tana Exporation Company, subsidiary of TRT wants to leave no large body of water unpolluted. Rowling knows the value of shitting on mother nature in order to increase business profits. Tana Co. was fined for hiring BP and allowing it to bypass safety valves on one of its rigs. Rowling does not simply want to resume Gulf Oil drilling. He wants to resume it with the maximum possible loss of life and damage to the environment.

Last, but surely not least, Harold Simmons (Swift Boat Vets for Truth), wants to move radioactive toxic waste into Texas. And he does not want any environmentalists or government regulators telling him how he will do it.

2. They're not called NAZIs for nothing.
Know your BFEE: Money Trumps Peace. Always.

And I don't call people "evil" lightly. But, based on the murderous way they treat other people individually and humanity as a whole, they deserve it.

Thank you for another outstanding post, McCamy Taylor. Can't wait to, eh, sift through the profiles and dossiers. True Scum, these.

3. The wrong-wing (would-be) plutocrats spend
millions, expecting billions in return.

But it's up to the voters whether or not this ploy pays off.

4. Sure looks like "WE" lost the Cold War
The corporate owned media trumpets the win.

Corporations and their cohorts in the CIA have been responsible for more right wing death squads than Idi Amin for cripes sake. How about the takeover of a duly elected government in South America?

The America we were all brainwashed to believe in never actually existed. We need to wake up. We need to rise up! Take down the corporations and the rich and give Democracy back to America and the world!

5. Meet who defends these corporate masters

In its recent report entitled, "Breaking the Grip? Obstacles to Justice for Paramilitary Mafias in Colombia," Human Rights Watch (HRW) had specific recommendations for the U.S. Department of Justice. Specifically, HRW recommended that, in order to assist with the process of ending the ties between the Colombian government and paramilitary death squads, the U.S. Department of Justice should, among other things, "create meaningful legal incentives for paramilitary leaders to fully disclose information about atrocities and name all Colombian or foreign officials, business or individuals who may have facilitated their criminal activities," and "collaborate actively with the efforts of Colombian justice officials who are investigating paramilitary networks in Colombia by sharing relevant information possible and granting them access to paramilitary leaders in U.S. custody."

Do not expect these recommendations to be carried forward if Eric Holder decides to forgo his lucrative corporate law practice at Covington & Burling and accept the U.S. Attorney General position for which many believe he is the top contender. Eric Holder would have a troubling conflict of interest in carrying out this work in light of his current work as defense lawyer for Chiquita Brands international in a case in which Colombian plaintiffs seek damages for the murders carried out by the AUC paramilitaries - a designated terrorist organization. Chiquita has already admitted in a criminal case that it paid the AUC around $1.7 million in a 7-year period and that it further provided the AUC with a cache of machine guns as well.

Indeed, Holder himself, using his influence as former deputy attorney general under the Clinton Administration, helped to negotiate Chiquita's sweetheart deal with the Justice Department in the criminal case against Chiquita. Under this deal, no Chiquita official received any jail time. Indeed, the identity of the key officials involved in the assistance to the paramilitaries were kept under seal and confidential. In the end, Chiquita was fined a mere $25 million which it has been allowed to pay over a 5-year period. This is incredible given the havoc wreaked by Chiquita's aid to these Colombian death squads.
