A CEO learns the employees actually have value
http://www.jsonline.com/business/104123524.html

The TV show "Undercover Boss" gets Great Wolf Resorts CEO Kim Shaefer an entry-level job. She said she actually learned something.

Working "As a waitress, Schaefer saw an example of what turned out to be her biggest surprise: the important role that individual personalities play in how employees handle contact with resort guests.

"There were just so many personalized experiences along the way on how they dealt with the guest," Schaefer said. "It's not so much about company policies. It's really about their personalities." "

Golly, you mean all that money is earned by the workers, and not the brilliant policy-making of the executives?

1. what I cannot understand about that show is how they convince
the employees that it there is nothing unusual for a camera crew to follow around a new entry-level employee.

3. but it gets worse - the audience believes the employees are speaking frankly with
that camera crew in the face - as does the CEO

6. it's nothing but a PR machine for the CEO and the corporation to show the public...
"look, I understand now that people are actually humans! I know? Who would have thought? So okay, guys, your job, is like sooooo hard, but hey, now that I know that, next time I see you and tell you to "get the fuck out of my way you lowly piece of shit", know that it comes from the heart". >pasted on smile<

This is why I burned my TV years ago.

5. I have listened to it . . . and still cannot understand how the employees buy in to it
the explanations I have heard sound pretty bogus - of course I have heard only 2.

I suppose there are those that think this is a normal occurrence.

7. makes about as much sense as any other stupid reality tv show out there
i wouldn't question it, not when they have Who Wants to be a Midget Bachelor Millionaire on 8pm every Tuesday.
