It's the hypocrisy, stupid!
Whitman doesn't get it. Most people don't really care that she had an undocumented immigrant as a maid. Most people hate the hypocrisy, not to mention the way she treated her employees.

1. But Rethugs CELEBRATE hypocrisy.
To them, it's not a liability, but a requirement.

After all, you remember what Rush the Drugster said, right? That hypocrisy is good, because it actually proves that society has moral standards?

So, of course Meg doesn't get it. Most righties don't, and won't.

2. Whitman is not a sympathetic figure
And she isn't getting a lot of support.

Let's face it, she is an unattractive person (I read one description of her as "Ben Franklin after a sex change"), she comes across as a condescending know it all, and she doesn't even know how to lie very well.

Some people could explain this away (Bill Clinton for one) but nobody likes Whitman anyway and she won't get the benefit of the doubt (not that there appears to be any doubt).

3. I disagree, I think it's both. The idea that while folks like her are suggesting
that unemployed citizens are just too lazy to find jobs, it burns me no end that those same assholes are making sure that they find people from elsewhere to do the jobs that we wouldn't except the low wages they want to pay.

I've said from the start, there are no jobs Americans won't do, there are just jobs that Americans expect to be pay fairly for while immigrants are willing to work as virtual slaves while living 15 deep in a 2 bedroom apartment.

4. This person hates that she UNDERPAID her employee most.
This is a total abuse of labor laws.
