The only thing bigger than Sanchez' massive ego...
Edited on Fri Oct-01-10 11:08 PM by ClusterFreak
...is his mouth. What a world class a**hole. I would never wish anyone fired (Okay...Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh...) but if anyone asked for it with some spectacularly stupid and **ahem** bigoted comments...it was Sanchez.

Stewart is a bigot because he calls Rick 'stupid'?? Jews run CNN and everything else and so on and so forth....?? Stewart is bigoted against anyone who disagrees with him? He's like Beck and O'Reilly?

Really.

Rick, you really are stupid.

Oh, and one more thing...you're right at the top of the list...you don't want to be on.

Ouch.

p.s. And I bet Jessica Yellin and Brooke Baldwin will be relieved to not have to have you leer at them and tell them how beautiful they are on air anymore. Wildly unprofessional and totally workplace sexual harassment. What a toolshed.

p.p.s. Because of my own massive ego...lol...I had to repost this in it's own thread from the major thread on the subject on the front page. Sorry...but I am almost as much in love with this post as Sanchez is with himself. :)

1. Another Sanchez story..............
"The tragic story of Tyler Clementi, the 18 year old college student that committed suicide, is on everyone’s mind. I doubt there is a person out there that doesn’t feel for him. Well, there is one. Rich Sanchez doesn’t see the perpetrators as bullies."

Here is what Sanchez said:
“‘Bullying?’ How is this bullying? You know, this whole term, it’s a psycho-babble, media term that we’ve made up. A person is mean to another person. How is this bullying?”

8. I don't see it as specifically bullying either...
Meaning I don't think the guy capturing him on camera intended to directly confront him.
Criminal, yes. Homophobic, likely. The list of wrongs are enough to prosecute even without the suicide.
Maybe cyberbullying?
But even that doesn't appear to be the case.
Even so...given this, for arguments sake, if I were Sanchez? Would hope I could find other aspects of the incident to discuss than taking a stand that it is not bullying. Someone died needlessly, why go from an angle that might be considered as sympathetic to the only possible guilty party - and so recent a tragedy?
Not professional at all which is probably why he is out of a job today.

14. He claimed that the very term 'to bully' is made up babble
Also, direct confrontation is not necessary to bully at all. But Ricky's take is that there is no such thing as a bully.
Just for the record, these comments were just prior to his rant about Stewart and all. As a gay person, I found those comments to be so out of line that I emailed CNN. Rick was on a spiral of some sort that day....

3. I'll have to admit I kind of liked him (not a fan, but I thought he was OK) so I was
very surprised to find out the guy is a screaming Hebrewphobe.

4. Interesting comment on ego.
Edited on Fri Oct-01-10 11:22 PM by RandomThoughts
If someone says someone is beautiful, thinking that the person puts value in what they think, that would be ego.

If they say it because they want to express how they feel, even knowing it might make them look egotistical, then that is not egotistical.

Not sure about the Sanchez thing. I thought his reports were pretty good most of the time, I would be curious to know if he used to be part of the military.

I first saw him on the news, the day after the first Kerry Bush debate, when CNN on my TV was a different format, and did not cover the debate accurately.

However I have also seen him do some great coverage on many issues that shows he is thinking for himself.

10. Well this whole episode will probably help his book sales.
Speaking of which...it's amazing the guy can go off like that about how maltreated he is/was by TPTB when every day for the last several weeks he's been allowed to formally plug his new book. 'Conventional Idiocy'. A more apt name for a book penned by Rick Sanchez...there could not be. Anyway...for this guy to bleat about how he's been oppressed by Jews or whatever, is just breathtaking.

Someone upthread suggested he'll probably end up on Fox News...I dunno...I kind of doubt it. At least if the fact that he did trash Fox fairly regularly on his show. But whatever...if they were to wave money in his face he might go for it. And Fox wouldn't care, imo, if he had been trashing them...as long as they thought he could draw an audience. Still, despite Sanchez' unbelievably bad judgment and even thinner skin (i.e. his rant against Stewart) I somehow doubt he'd go there. I think he IS a left of center guy and that his anti-Fox views are actually legitimately held.

My two cents, y'all.:hi:

11. Bet CNN hated to let him go, since they've got other hosts copying his style!
Have you noticed how Brook Baldwin, who was often on with Sanchez, is more and more doing his act? The same gestures etc. Others on CNN seem to be imitating his style also.

see how self involved he was and how he put on such an acting display that seemed to get more and more animated.
He simply had to be the center of attention.
