Islamabad - A high-level Iranian delegation has informed Pakistan Iran has already constructed 900 km pipeline of 56 inch diameter from Assulyah gas processing facility up to Iran-Shahr, the Pakistan Petroleum Ministry said Wednesday. This means only 250 km remains to be constructed up to the Pakistan border, a statement from the Ministry said.

Under the deal finalized earlier this year, 750 million cubic feet of gas will be pumped to Pakistan daily from Iran by mid-2015.
Described as the 'Peace Pipeline,' the project has been planned since the 1990s and originally would have extended from Pakistan to its arch- rival, India.
However, India has been reluctant to join the project due to its disputes with Pakistan, and probably some US pressure, analysts say.
