Pa. insists Cabot pay for $11.8M water pipeline for Dimock residents

http://www.buzzflash.net/story.php?id=1136463

If Pennsylvania has its way, an oil and gas company will pay $11.8 million for a 12.5-mile municipal water pipeline that will service homes whose water wells were ruined by the natural gas drilling process, the state's top environmental official announced Thursday. Department of Environmental Protection Secretary John Hanger said his office would "go after" Houston-based Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation in court if the company refuses to pay for the project, which is expected to begin in early November and run between a water treatment plant on Lake Montrose and Dimock.

they can't get away with poisoning people's well water.

Penn. better get its way.

1. People of Pennsylvania, listen up
If you elect Tom Corbett as governor, you're going to give carte blanche to the fracking industry, and there will be little likelihood of holding these out-of-state companies responsible for contaminating our water.

2. Thanks for posting this. I'm finally getting a chance to see Gasland tomorrow. Very excited!!
I was out all day and I was hoping that this story would get posted.

These vultures need to be stopped before PA becomes one huge Super Fund Site.

These are three good sites to track the flow of oil and gas money to politicians. As the poster above me pointed out, they are courting Corbett with a lot of dirty money and dirty energy. They also give some to Onorato, but it's a fraction of what Corbett has seen.

This one is taking forever to load today, but I only have DSL so others might have better luck.
