What Do You Think Of "politico"? |
|
I was going to do a poll, but decided to do this instead.
For the record, I think "politico" is a right wing rag that got way to much credence way too fast.

3. I concur with your assessment |
|
If I had my way (which is a luxury I've never known), all citations of articles originating from websites like Politico would be relegated to a special forum with a title something like Right-Wing Talking Points. IMO they're not suitable for discussion on DU, as they're nothing more than propaganda sites.

4. As long as you remain cognizant of the fact that it frames from |
|
a "Right" perspective, it is okay. Get news anywhere --just know their perspective. Politico leans Republican.

6. It is a right-wing garbage site. |

Who funds and runs the Politico?
In the middle of an article by The Politico's Mike Allen regarding last night's GOP presidential debate, one finds this paragraph:
She was escorted out of the hall by Frederick J. Ryan Jr., chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation, and president and CEO of The Politico.
So the President and CEO of The Politico, Frederick Ryan, is also the Board Chairman for the Reagan Library. And that makes sense, because Ryan is a long-time, hard-core Reaganite. From a November 1987 Press Release:
Appointment of Frederick J. Ryan, Jr., as Assistant to the President
----
Make no mistake, Politico is a right-wing Trojan horse.

13. They seem to pretty well lean way to the right and I know I am tired of |
|
seeing them on every dam news show including every news show on MSNBC, Tweety even Ed. I wonder how they came on so strong, so quick, where did the money come from, probably would be interesting.
The one, think is Robert Simon or something, he certainly is weak and full of it. The other day he was accusing Obama of throwing his family under the bus because Obama said something about they didn't go to church every Sunday. I mean, such crap as that.
I don't care much for them. Another case where our side needs to do more about getting the media independent instead of corporate.
Good luck with that probably.

15. Right wing rag, for sure. They did much of the Divide and Conquer work against the Dems |
|
during the primary. If an inaccurate story was making the rounds about one of the Dems, you could bet it started at Politico. An excellent site to study if you want to research political bias. As far as news goes---about as reliable as your aunt gossiping with the neighbors.
