Oh, God No - Gibbs eyed for DNC chair
"Democratic insiders are taking the temperature of some top party donors about the possibility of naming White House press secretary Robert Gibbs as chairman of the Democratic National Committee heading into President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012, senior officials tell POLITICO."

Wow, I really dont think they could pick someone worse, this is amazingly stupid in a political sense. How long do you think it will be before the white house figures out that liberals fucking hate Robert Gibbs?

1. holymutheruhgod.
Hard to come wp with a worse choice. I don't actually hate Gibbs, I just think he's the wrong man for the job. Any job, actually.

2. This leads me to two different questions.
First, is Tim Kaine now wishing he could recall his silly logo? Seems that fiasco sealed his fate, if this story is true.

Second, if Gibbs becomes DNC chair, does that mean his war on "the professional Left" becomes the official party position.

Just one Son of Man's opinion here, but I really think they should bring back Howard Dean.

Politico = at the root of unnamed sourced poo-stirring since 2007 and still going strong.

Not saying there's more to this but I'd prefer to hear it from some other sources along with/rather than Politico.

Edit: gonna deep read vs. scan to see if I can answer my own questions.

6. Want a real stomach-flipper of a thought?
Maybe they know what we think of him, and maybe that's the point of the appointment.

usually the more we express a dislike or like for something or someone the opposite is done.

9. That's good news and bad news
The good news is that he's thinking about stepping down as Press Secretary.

The bad news is that he wants to replace the Dean Scream with the Gibbs squeak.

11. Well, considering Tim Kaine spent 18 months designing a "D" inside of a circle,
I suppose that Gibbs would be an improvement.

18. Ya know, I can think of about a dozen ways to turn that logo
into something ya wouldn't want to see. The mildest of them is just to put a red "No" bar across it.

14. That's all we need - another soft spoken, easy going guy that says um between every sentence except
when he is insulting the base.

Why not Ed Schulz, I know he is not available, but someone like that? Someone that is not afraid to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done.

DU is kind of a bubble.

At any rate, I doubt this rumor. But we do need a new chair.

No matter who's heard of him. It's the reality, not just the image, that I object to.

Damn shame they burned him so badly. He's the best thing to have happened to the Dems' electoral chances in years.

25. How many threads have been started, based on nothing more
than speculation promulgated on a right-leaning rumor mill? How many views, posts, recs & subsequent views on the so-called 'Greatest Page' have been engendered - and now my futile attempt to chastise the Typhoid Marys who spread this disease among the base of the Democratic party?

Here's a modest suggestion: GET A FUCKING GRIP!
