The most powerful persons of 2008-2010 are, in order (IMO), President Obama, Ben Bernanke, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
Of those four, how would you rank them in terms of how much good they have done for the nation during the 2008-2010 period using whatever practical tools/powers were at their disposal?
My ranking is:
Bernanke Pelosi Reid Obama
The top and bottom are no-brainers. Bernanke has been far from perfect but is the closest thing to a hero these two years have tossed up. One might argue for Reid over Pelosi since the Senate majority leader has so much less direct power than the speaker. Reid didn't do so badly given the conservadem bloc and the general political climate. In terms of use of available power Obama has to take the rap for all his underlings because he has the power to over-rule any of them on any point.

2. They have followed all the rules. If they would have played with no |

rules like the republicans they would have gotten there way more, but then they would be just as bad. We could have elected more clever democrats. We should seek them out. People who will commit themselves to the good of this country with no desire for personal gain. How easy will that be to find?
I rate them Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Bernake. I rate them not by power but by character.
