What's the difference between the Tea Party and the Republican Party?
I'm sure there is a funny punch line here, but seriously...

They both preach less government, that is - unless you disagree with them on reproductive freedom, civil unions, school prayer, or immigration. Then it's OK for big gov to butt in.

From my vantage point, they are all right wing wackos, just with different degrees of anger.

There was a Tea Part rally in my community; they fancy themselves as some kind of grass roots movement. All it sounded like to me was re-cooked Republican wing-nut rhetoric. Nothing new there.

Is there really much of a difference?

1. There is no difference. The Tea Party is just .............
the Republican Party rebranded and unleashed. You ever notice how when the official Republican Party was at it nadir last year, all of a sudden the Tea Party arose? No difference.

6. The Republican Party
really want to have a free reign i.e. no regs, no rules, no taxes, no services and entitlements or (all given to buddies to run at increased costs) privatized...while the Tea Party only say they want those things because they are told that's what they want...

10. My point exactly - it seems the MSM (and faux in particular)...
Wants to portray them as different animals. Not only are they birds of a feather, they are the same bird! It's just newsworthy to call them something different. The weird thing is if you ask a TP what the difference is, they don't know. They are just mindlessly following the ass in front of them - all marching in a straight line.

11. And it is all b-s that they are not racists. My wife and I went by a rally when we were shopping
and looked at who they were. We have lived around the area for over 40 years and know a lot of people and some of them are teabaggers. We know them enough to know that every single one of them is a racist. We also know them to be stupid slobs.

13. There are a couple
There are fewer letters in "Tea" than "Republican."

Teabaggers fly the "Don't Tread on Me" banner under their flags; Republicans wear their flags on their lapels.

Other than that, I can't think of any. The reality is, a teabagger is a Republican who realizes the damage the last Republican administration did--to the Republican brand. They like the damage the Bush Administration did to the nation, but they know if they say they're Republicans, people will wrinkle their noses and ask "why would you want to be that?" They can say they're in the Tea Party and be one of the cool new kids.

The Rethuglican Teabagger Party. They are part and parcel of the same psychosis that produced 1930s Germany.

The "tea party" movement is about as real as an imaginary friend.

To help the Democratic party.

It is about putting certain people in the spotlight, to show what some actually think, and from there get people to question what they think is best, and think and feel on what is important.

There is no way that the Mauer tapes on Christine Odonnel would not have been known by Fox news before the primary election.

There are Fox news correspondents that are good friends with Mauer. And Christine ODonell would have remembered those interviews, and they would have come up in her past election races.

If any of that stuff seen on tv was real.

Green screen? Dream Land? CGI? Who knows.

However, I do know, I am still due beer and travel money.
