Since You Ask, I'm Feeling Pretty Good About D Chances In Nov.
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 01:24 AM by stopbush
Because:

1. Obama is on the road making the case for the progress we've made

2. Tea party candidate idiocies are staring to be used against them and are helping Ds in Nevada, NY, DE, CA and elsewhere ( http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-election-side-issues-20101003,0,4930166.story )

3. Ds are just as energized as Rs, and there's more of us than them

4. High-profile races like the CA Governor contest are exposing the hypocrisy of Rs and helping Ds look like the sane choice

5. D enthusiasm is surging while the Rs peaked too early

6. The Rs hubris and the media chant that the "Rs are going to win big" may actually hurt their GOTV efforts as Rs may think it's in the bag, so "my vote isn't needed, I can get back to making money."

7. Good reports in the news on health care reform & Obama's economic policies are showing "what have Ds done for me lately" just in time for the elections

1. The next 15 days should be very telling
If the momentum trend for the Ds continue then I think it will be a wash. Minor losses, but in historical perspective insignificant. The media will IMMEDIATELY pivot and say it is the end for Obama even though they spent six months saying it would be an epic sweep.

2. LOL OMG who is unreccing this? I AGREE WITH YOU!!!
The teabagger candidates are sinking and the Dems rising....it's all good....and not only that but the GOP and the GOP media raised expectations to the point of anything less than huge gains for them will be a letdown. What i think is that we will hold the Senate and, depending on the the work we do here on the ground....we might hold the house too. And if we do the agenda will be moving progressive, it's a mandate!

5. For awhile I was upset that the Dems didn't "respond"
With these teabagger tantrums, now I'm really glad and I think they were right to wait closer to the election to take them on. first of all our reps have to actually GOVERN and can't be in "defensive/respond" mode 24/7 to people who will whine NO MATTER WHAT unless RW lunatics are in power.

But man, I think they done GOOD!! By not responding they let the fired up teabaggers nom COMPLETELY CRAZY GOP candidates. Then once the primaries are over they pounce! I really think it was brilliant -- Jerry Brown didn't even start campaigning until labor day, meg had already spend 100 mil by then. But it doesn't matter -- he was 9 points ahead BEFORE nannygate!

6. I agree. Obama has problems but local candidates don't.
Here in California, Boxer and Brown are popular and will carry the ticket.

The Tea-Baggers are full of hot air.

And the reports that they are on the average better educated than Democrats?

Activist Democrats are probably the best educated group. If you compare them to the activist Tea-Baggers, the Democrats will prove to be better informed about the world, history and politics as well as better educated over all.
