Judge Blocks City Rule On Gas Price Signs
Fuel Stations Near Orlando Airport Charge Nearly $5 Per Gallon

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A circuit court judge has blocked the city of Orlando from enforcing an ordinance requiring gas stations to post their prices.

The city passed the ordinance over the summer, saying some gas stations near Orlando International Airport were catching customers off guard with prices near $5 per gallon.

Judge Jose Rodriguez ruled the ordinance defective because the city did not let interested parties know when they could speak to the city council about the rule. The city also did not say where the ordinance would be available for public inspection before it was passed, the judge said.
