Republicans spent Summer declaring Ground Zero "hallowed ground" and then spit on 9/11 firefighters
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 09:36 AM by TheBigotBasher
Washington (CNN) -- A bill to provide medical benefits and compensation for emergency workers who were first on the scene of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks won approval Wednesday from the U.S. House.
The measure passed on a mostly partisan 268-160 vote. The Senate has yet to take up the issue.
President Barack Obama, who supported the measure, hailed its passage.
"It is a critical step for those who continue to bear the physical scars of those attacks," he said in a statement. "I applaud the House for its support of this bill and for standing up on behalf of these heroes, who served our country in its time of greatest need. I look forward to Congress completing consideration of this legislation so I can sign it into law."

This was not brave or patriotic you dipshit Republicans:-

This was:-

Importing British Neo Nazi skin heads from the EDF/SIOE to protest against Muslims building a non mosque not on Ground Zero had almost every Republican reaching for their white sheet. The tweets from the twit simply encouraged more hate. Republican candidates happily shared a platform with a European Neo Fascist Leader. They called their summer of hate campaign against Muslims "patriotic". They claimed to be doing it for the victims of 9/11.

Yet when it came down to doing just a small tiny thing for the heroes of 9/11, a tiny bit of help that every US politician should have felt honour and duty bound to vote for, Republican spat in the face of those first responders. Typical.

1. Republicans SUCK
The repukes are ALL about party, and the Democrats are about country.

Nothing proves that point more than when the repukes wore Purple Heart band-aids mocking those wounded in combat fighting for the Unites States.

Although they were targeting Kerry at the time, even accusing him of shooting himself, the message was clear. Get shot for us, but don't you dare run for political office if you belong to the opposition party.

The Democratic Party has increased Veterans benefits, only to have the draft-dodging repuke sissies cut it back.

I have nothing left in me but disdain for the racist homophobic republican national teabagger party.

3. Let it all out. I fully agree.
Republicans are moving themselves ever further to a ridiculous unelectable extreme and no-one in their party is sensible enough to call them n it.

They need to be called for this because their treatment of 9/11 first responders is a disgrace.

2. Just One More Reasons For Democrats To "Wake Up"
...and if current polling is to be believed, this may be happening. This election, while the corporate media tries to play it as some national referendum on President Obama and the Democratic party, we're seeing it begin to boil down to local candidates and their issues and personalities. The teabaggers have provided a treasure-trove of soundbites and the rushpublican party on the whole has taken a strong stand on other issues that can, and I'm starting to see, be used on a race by race basis. It doesn't show up on the national radar...the only chance is when we see the local commercials or debates, but in every race, rushpublicans are being defined as the obstructionists and radicals they've made themselves to be. Those dreams of taking the House & Senate were so close yet so far...
