Paul: Social Security age may need to be raised

U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul said Sunday the age of eligibility for Social Security and Medicare may need to be raised for future recipients.

But Paul, speaking during the first televised debate of the general election season with Democratic opponent Jack Conway, said he doesn't want to change those benefits for older people already receiving them. The debate was aired on FOX News.

(snip)
Paul and Republican leaders have tried to paint Conway as a clone of the Obama administration. Conway said Sunday that he would have supported "some" of President Barack Obama's initiatives, including the health care reforms. He said he would have voted against bailouts.

"There was not enough accountability in them," he said. "We had people getting bonuses after getting the bailouts."

2. No need to do anything for those already receiving S/S
We'll be dieing off in the next 10 to 20 years or so any way. Just destroy it for the next up in line so they don't have anything, is all that is necessary.

If they did really try to reduce S/S for those of us those of us that are already getting it, the up swelling would be fearful to behold. Much like when bu$h the lesser tried to trashed Social Security in the stock market.
