China's future is tied to educating its young people, and strategizing its way to economic domination through control of resources.

This does not look like a fight we are going to win.

1. Actually it looks more like our future will be focused on war
And everything else, including education and helping our elderly population will increasingly fall to the wayside.

5. Its obligations do.
How surplus social security bonds being paid out of the general treasury means social security is not being funded by the general treasury is a cute little trick.

9. funded vs repaid
I guess that any bonds redeemed by China are also being "funded" out of the Treasury?

Well, yeah. If I pay my back taxes out of my weekly paycheck I guess I'm funding the Treasury out of my current income.

On the other hand, what do you think will happen if I just decide that I'm not going to send that check to the IRS?

Same thing applies if the Treasury reneges on a trillion dollars or so in Federal notes.

What does "full faith and credit" mean to you, exactly?

We paid taxes over a long period of time to fund SocSec. Do you think there is something illegitimate in expecting to receive the benefits we paid for in advance? If you have life insurance and the insurance company decides it costs too much to pay their obligation, would that be alright with you?

How would stealing the funds in question differ in any way from that?

Using the money to pay for wars and tax breaks and then complaining that you might have to pay it back is typical of the GOPukes who've infected the public dialogue for decades.

There is nothing admirable in stealing from the poor (and working class) to give to the rich.

7. China - the nation that locks its working young into ghettos at night?
China doesn't give a fuck about its people beyond forcing them to obey the ruling class.
