For a country that touts itself as "The Land of Free and the Home of the Brave"... |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-04-10 07:04 PM by MrScorpio
We've always been scared of something in this country and our freedoms have always been conditional, am I right?
I just watched GUILTY BY SUSPICION, starring Robert DeNiro. A movie about the HUAC and the Hollywood Blacklist.
And now, I'm watching a movie called FAR FROM HEAVEN with Dennis Quaid, which explores homophobia and racism in the 1950s.
It seems that, from day one, up until this very day, the freedom and bravery of American home and land is still very conditional and fear infused.

2. Fear is a very powerful weapon |
|
and people have always found a way to harness that weapon. "The only thing we have to fear, is fear it self" "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering" and there are a ton of other examples in popular culture.

3. The problem with the USA,and all other countries,is that they are |
|
populated by fallible human beings.
There will never be perfection, I'm afraid.
