An old friend of mine, who happens to be an arch-con of the highest order, is at it again posting crap on Facebook (most directly from the noise machine, naturally). I tore up his arguments easily, but the piece du risistance would be a video link or two of teabaggers getting pissed at reporters or whatever. One of his videos is of someone from the 10-2 rally getting (justifyably imho) annoyed at some right wing reporter who keeps chasing her around and filming her. This is his example of "liberal anger", and then he goes on to talk about how clean and responsible the Beckheads are compared to the "dirty liberals" who left such a mess on 10-2 (I ripped that one apart bigtime).
Also, is there some reason finding such videos on YouTube is so difficult? I tried searching several different ways and all I came up with was RIGHT wing crap about how kind and peaceloving they all are. I KNOW I've seen plenty of footage in the past. I'm wondering if the cons are running a concerted campaign to unreccomend any offensive footage so it's very difficult to find on YouTube.
Thanks in advance, guys.
P.S. here's a copy of my FB counterargument to his "dirty hippies" propaganda, for your reading pleasure. :)
"Your dittos are showing, again. Don't be a parrot for the right wing noise machine dude, it doesn't suit you. You're far better when you argue from a position of real arguments than when you support this "dirty hippies" propaganda.
Funny that before this latest rally, the very SAME argument was trotted out by the noise machine as a Beck vs inauguration 08 argument...never mind the fact that the inauguration crowd was a very diverse one. I daresay even a fair number of conservatives were in the crowd that day, if nothing else but for the chance to witness the extremely historic event of the swearing in of Americas very first African American President.
But no, don't let the facts get in your way. Let's just paint this ugly "filthy liberals" vs "clean, responsible conservatives" meme instead.
Oh, and it's a bunch of malarky in any case. I live in Japan, one of the cleanest countries in the world. The streets are generally pristine, and people will carry refuse for miles waiting for a proper receptacle in which to place it. And YET, in my years working at Tokyo Disneyland, after a large event with 10's of thousands of people would disperse, there would inevitably be SOME trash on the ground. So those picturesque shots taken of the Beck rally aftermath? Carefully selected/handpicked/possibly even pre-planned shots. Same goes for the "wasteland" pictures that the noise machine is trotting out now.
An honest person would realize this. Just think about the narrative being put forth here, and realize that to believe it you are buying into the silliness of the right wing propaganda machine at it's most petty and coarse."
