Lindsey Graham And Joe Wilson Pimping F-35s In South Carolina
unhappycamper note: Since the ‘Pentagon’ (Righthaven LLC?) has ‘requested’ that I only post one paragraph from articles on Army Times, and Airforce Times, I’ve decided to give ya’ll an unhappycamper summary of the article and a link to the OP. To keep in that same (new) tradition, I will also do the same for articles on Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, stripes.com and military.com.To keep in that same (new) tradition, I will also do the same for for articles on Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, stripes.com and military.com.

To read the article in the military's own words, you will need to click the link.

Read all about Fair Use here. It sure is beginning to smell like fascism.

unhappycamper summary of this article: Lindsey Graham And Joe Wilson took the bait and ran with it.

The F-35 is Lockheed Martin's attempt to keep the company afloat selling expensive crap to dolts. At $243 million dollars a pop they are expensive, non-stealthy, noisy, and don't work all that well.

1. Most of that money is already gone
It's not that I don't agree that the F-35 is probably the wrong aircraft at the wrong time. But you do realize that much of that per copy money is actually already spent. We've basically already "bought" them and may want to just finish this contract out. They will probably become the "B-52" of the fighter era. It is dubious we'll ever start another large fighter jet program. We may be using this for the better part of the next 5 decades. I played golf with a retired Air Force officer who suggested that we should start to think about designing the plane around the weapons they want them to carry, since they probably won't be fighting other planes any more. Basically they'll be finally getting around to replacing the A-7's.
