Edited on Tue Oct-05-10 08:25 AM by LynneSin
Looks like Meg Whitman should have just lit a fire to that pile of cash.

What's scary. If Ms Whitman had paid a few extra thousands to keep her domestic help happy and got them legal she wouldn't be in the position today. I just read where the nanny is backing the maid's story. And the nanny said she had trouble getting paid by Whitman too.

2. SHe's pathetic.....
She was a powerful woman at Ebay and I guess she thinks she will buy power by trying to buy an election. Power-mongers can't stand not being in charge of people, telling them what to do. They think they can buy everything, and pretty much do, if they can. We need more politicians like Joe Biden, a people's candidate.

7. Provide some homeless people with food and shelter.
Maybe start an adult literacy center.

I would definitely open a free child care center for parents who had to work but couldn't afford quality child care.

I could probably think of more, but that's just off the top of my head.

I certainly wouldn't waste it trying to purchase elective office.

8. I sure wouldn't bother running for office myself.
With $120 Million, it's much easier just to buy several politicians and leave it at that. Both parties probably offer a discount if you buy in bulk.

12. Someone mentioned this on the radio yesterday; I thought it was spot on.
Why on Earth would anyone with a brain pay $120 million to be Governor of California? It's a pretty crappy job, and whoever wins is almost guaranteed to fail given California's propensity to pass new propositions all the time. One could see wanting to be a Senator from California, but Governor? Lousy job! And $120 million? A lot of scratch for a no-win job!

What gives, here?

14. Open a foundation to help children with maxillofacial and craniofacial treatment
That includes Treachers Collins Syndrome and cleft lip and pallet.

Smiletrain can change a child's life for just $250. $120 million would give a new life to 480,000 children.

Let's face it, the better the looks the better the job and salary, so why not start everyone out on a level playing field as much as possible?
