A loss too great to measure.

It is not that we might lose an election. That happens.

But it is the idea that Americans have lost their minds.

They no longer have any judgement. They cannot reason. They do not know right from wrong. They cannot be trusted.

If that happens, the nation is lost.

When they permit themselves to be deceived because of Party affiliation, they are weak and easy prey. They have no sense of the danger that surrounds them.

This is about more than just an election. It is about the soul, heart, and mind of America. If we wander into that jungle, there is no easy way back. We could be lost for many, many years.

1. "This is about more than just an election"
You're right, it's about money and power. It always is. Politicians are nacissists by nature.....it's always all about them and their wealth and power. Wanna change? Elect a guy who isn't a multi-millionaire. We need more Joe Bidens in this world. A people person who says what he thinks. Yeah, he fucks up occasionally, and that's what I like about him. He fires from the hip, just like we do.

6. Sorry to inform you, but...
Joe is a millionaire. He also help write the new bankruptcy bill that violates the constitution. The state he represented is home to virtually all credit card companies.

Joe may come off as a "regular guy" but frankly, he's not all that regular.

They all take money, They are all millionaires with the exception of Barny Sanders who cleared 900,000 bucks last year.

This is from a very enlightening segment on the Rachel Maddow show about one month ago.

2. It is just as serious as you portray
maybe even worse.

We've been dumbed down and told to rely on our "gut" and not logic or reason. Our politics has become a mass-marketing extravaganza where the choices have been narrowed down to good (us) versus evil(anybody who isn't us). I can't believe it has come to this....and the worst part is.....not even my over-developed WHITE KNIGHT SYNDROME knows how to stop it.

The last time I felt this way was just before the Supreme Court coup d'etat proclaiming George Bush the winner in Florida....I'm feeling it again...and I am almost physically ill.

4. The last time I felt this way was when Reagan won in a landslide,
& then the Iranian hostages were released on the day of his inauguration. I couldn't believe the American people were duped by a grade B actor running on nothing but sound bites. I didn't vote for 20 years. Things are significantly worse now.

5. You are not allowed to any longer
Edited on Tue Oct-05-10 09:54 AM by Winterblues
It is the new "money laundering" scheme.. people are allowed to contribute without their identities being known..Any amount they wish as well..after all you can not limit free speech...Unless you put Liberals in Free Speech pens that is....According to Rachel on last night's show Democrats have raised almost all of their money from hundreds of thousands of small donations from hundreds of thousands of individuals. Republicans and Karl Rove in particular have raised even more but from just three people.....Think about it.. Three people are going to buy our leaders....

7. You speak of this as if it were our future
Except for the liberal elite (read that as those who read and discern, in other words, think), "we've" been in that jungle for quite a while.
