It's time to call off war on drugs, former narcotics agent says
"RUSS JONES has spent nearly half of his 64 years dealing with drugs."
...
"Name a controlled substance, and he can tell you how it is made, where it is marketed and what it costs on the street. He can tell you something else: America's war on drugs is an unmitigated failure that should be terminated."

1. Funny how the war AGAINST drugs is the one based on unreality...
That Marijuana (which is what we're really talking about) can be called a "narcotic" with a straight face is part of the bizarre, emperor-has-no-clothes aspect of this whole thing.

2. Using a natural remedy of proven value will get you a prison term
whereas using some of the "cures" pushed on us by Big Pharma will get you dead.

Funny how that works, innit.

3. "They" could care less if it's a failure. It's all about power
The police and prosecutors don't want to relinquish such a powerful tool to use against us. Much harder to obtain search warrants. Probable cause takes a huge hit. Budgets are slashed and NOBODY wants that. Municipalities lose out on the sale of impounded property. Fewer ways to put a person behind bars. Any sane person can see what a colossal waste of money the war on drugs continues to be but it's not about actually getting people to stop using drugs.
