1. If you are told to evac, do so
most likely they will go on lockdown.

Take care.

3. Thanks, nadin...
I hope it's nothing, sometimes that's the case. Helicopters up the kazoo right now.

2. Oh, suspicious object
Someone probably left their skanky gym bag on the sidewalk again.

4. Problem is that sooner or later the skanky gym
bag will be an actual explosive.

6. It's always interesting to find out what the suspicious object is
Shouldn't there be a LAW that precludes suspicious objects from sale in the US?

Or do we just need to KEEP FEAR ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coming to a national capitol, soon.

7. Better safe than sorry...
The last NY bomber was sentenced yesterday. This Angelena takes heed when things happen in NYC.

8. Be safe! These things usually turn out to be nothing.
I hope that is the case.

10. In most cases, yes, it does turn out to be nothing
I was at a minor league baseball game when the entire stadium was evacuated through side entrances - very quickly, very calmly, and with no explanation.

It turned out to be a bomb scare brought about by a suspicious object - a kid's lunch left at the main entrance to the ballpark.

9. Not the first bomb threat on Olympic.
In, I believe 1984, some whacko tried to bomb the IRS office in W. LA on Olympic Boulevard with a car bomb. I was working as a free lance bookkeeper then and was on my way to pick up some tax forms when I was stopped by a police barricade and told I could go nowhere near that building and probably couldn't until the next day. Later in the news it was said it was a bomb scare. A nutso had loaded a broken down truck with explosives that were timed to go off at a certain time. Fortunately, since the truck was parked in a no parking zone (pretty stupid), the police investigated and were able to dismantle the bomb before it went off.

I suspect the police bomb squad is on it and since there is such a thing as a bomb squad I assume it's not that uncommon a circumstance. We just don't hear about it that often.
