...I mean... who are O'Donnell's consultants? They have her wearing all black... with dark lighting... and too much makeup making her skin look paler... .and weird new age music in the background.

All they needed was a black pointy hat and a broomstick to complete the ensemble.

Finally... any time you start a commercial with a statement like "I am not a witch"... the viewers will tend to forget everything else you said after that.

Nixon gave a really long impassioned speech in which he uttered the words "I am not a crook." Nobody remembers that he said ANYTHING else in that speech.

Bill Clinton was on the witness stand for over an hour in the Paula Jones trial... but the only words anybody remembers him saying are "It depends on what the definition of 'is' is."

Christine O'Donnell's "I am you" ad is going to go down as one of the worst political ads in US history.

1. I might dress up as Christine O'Donnell for Halloween
Once upon a time, Ginny thought it would be hilarious if I went drag for Halloween. Even though she's no longer with us, perhaps this year is the year I dress up as a witch. Happy Halloween, honey...

3. Where you saw a witch, Howard Fineman saw a debutante

Last night, he told Keith, "I think that you don‘t even need Saturday Night Live...Not since Richard Nixon declared 'I am not a crook' has there been such a moment. To start an ad by saying, 'I am not a witch'—but they did their best to make her look the Junior League there. She‘s got the pearls and the piano in the background, and the shy black dress..."

I agree--it's next to impossible to satire satire. Tina Fey pulled it off only because she was able to use Palin's words verbatim!
