LEAKED Emails: Sarah Palin DOESN'T Give Out Endorsements for NOTHING.
" ..Some testy emails between the camps of Sarah Palin and Alaskan Senate candidate Joe Miller, whom she endorsed, have leaked, and yikes! Basically, when Miller refused to directly answer a televised question regarding Palin's presidential qualifications, Todd Palin was... unhappy.

The Alaskan politics blog Mudlfats obtained these suckers. The first message shows Miller's surprise upon finding Todd Palin's nasty message in his inbox. The second is Todd Palin's original email, addressed to both Miller and SarahPAC treasurer Tim Crawford. He instructs Crawford to withhold further support for Miller in the wake of his ambiguous response to a Fox News question about Sarah Palin's qualifications for president. Then he turns to Miller and writes, "Joe, please explain how this endorsement stuff works, is it to be completely one sided." (That's a question.)

Todd Palin probably would have preferred for these emails to stay private, obviously, but he's not breaking new, cynical ground here. Sarah Palin doesn't give out endorsements for fun. She's trying to build a power base in the next Congress should she decide to run for president — something she's clearly thinking about, and building the structure for, but not necessarily decided on.

But it's not surprising that Sarah Palin hasn't said much about Joe Miller in public recently. And so far, they're not challenging the veracity of this exchange.

1. For the life of me I can't decide which is more disturbing...
the fact that Guvnah Quittah is planning to run for president, or that she spent an entire morning working on a single Facebook post.

Both of them are pretty damn scary!

7. I think she is being manipulated by Karl Rove. Telling her she has a chance to be president.
While she draws the enemy fire, the Repubs will slip their "real" candidate into the running. My bet is Jeb Bush. Sarah is a red herring.

11. interesting idea. I've thought she was being trained by Wm Kristol & friends
to actually get elected into office -- a president who can be easily manipulated, as Bush was.

16. I also think that the neocons are a large influence, however, I must point out
that Republicans will never support a female for president, even as beautiful as Sarah (urp), especially if she is uppity.

But I do believe that the Bush Crime Family has a lot of influence. My money is on Jeb, as Poppy said "the smart son".

23.  The way things have been going
Jim Demint is right in line. The crazier a candidate is, the more the GOP supports him/her.

15. I've been thinking that for a long time. But I'm also thinking that the strategy will
backfire - there are too many Palin fans among the freepy bagger types, and they've let it go too long, to just supplant her with a new candidate. They're going to have to either completely destroy her - which shouldn't be hard, and will be fun to watch - or buy her off in a massive way. Either way, it will take a delicacy that I doubt the Rs can muster...

17. I think a visit from Karl Rove will convince her to step down. Karl knows how to "kill" an opponent
I bet Karl has enough on her to shut her up. If she isnt smart enough (duh) Rove will destroy her.

12. One might want to forward these e-mails to ABC
where Sarah Palin has been prominently seen on "DWTS". After all, her daughter is "dancing", and America must see her as well.

I call it campaigning. I think her appearances there should be subject to campaign laws. She is getting advertising time other candidates are not receiving.

In the meantime, it's nice to see that Todd Palin's English teachers had a real effect on him.

19. My friend Jeanne Devon at The Mudflats SO rocks.
I'll advise everyone to get over there and read her original post. It's kind of hard to get on since she's been picked up by Everybody today, including Time Magazine, but here's the link http://www.themudflats.net/

Keep trying. It's a great story with lots of good comments.
