Brown SHOWS MEG THE MONEY! Responsible Thrift vs. Toxic Spender
A GREAT article on the contrasts of spending habits between the two candidates for Governor of California.

Very telling stuff:

She has spent $6.8 million to date on her staff, including $90,000 a month to her chief strategist, Mike Murphy.

Whitman’s campaign also has spent nearly $12 million on outside consultants, $8.2 million on campaign literature, $1.2 million on polling and $850,000 on private air travel.

Brown, who relies on a roster of volunteer workers, has spent just $321,000 on campaign staff and consultants to date; campaign manager Steven Glazer earns $15,000 a month.

The bulk of Brown’s spending, nearly $9 million, has gone toward the ad campaign he recently launched, he also spent $94,000 on polling.

Brown has spent about $13,000 on air travel, most of it on Southwest Airlines.

_______

seems to me even the tea bagging idiots would have to agree who is being fiscal-minded here... but they don't want to argue the facts, just their little brainless tantrums

1. Of course, there are also the idiots
Who just want to see a "new face," like my mom. They don't care about where the candidate stands, they just want a new face.

2. Tell her Gerry LOOKS much different that he used to...
and much different than Arnie. So that should qualify as a "new face."

7. Her face has been in paid ads so much, she's turned into the 'old face' that folks turn off now

at some point, even diehards can't all stay interested in someone who isn't qualified, and wants to spend their bankroll to try and buy a job.

she may as well just have gotten into the movies and bought her own script and production
she could try and buy her own little Oscar next

<chortle... cough, cough>

10. So true. Talk about your overexposure.
Her face everywhere, her voice on ALL the radio stations, 10 x a day.

Jerry probably knew that by now people would be sick of her. That's why he (wisely) waited until september to start running ads. And he doesn't voice all his ads. EVEn without this nanny issue, she'd be losing by now, probably just a little slower..

3. Hilarious!
$140 mil spent and they're neck and neck!

The next mil you spend better be to assassinate Brown, Meg, or you might as well kill yourself after spending all that money and losing.

4. $140? Last I heard it was $120 million.
Did she really spend $20 million in a week? On my best day and with training, I couldn't spend that much.

8. She should have coughed up a couple hundred grand to pay off the illegial immigrant housekeeper.
Seriously, she strikes me as one arrogant woman with very little street sense.

11. My grandpa used to call it...
Too many dollars, not enough cents (sense).

Heck, paying an immmigration lawyer to fix things right would have cost even less than that, and it would have most likely garnered NutMeg many Latino votes. But the cover up was her knee jerk reaction... so typical for those in the GOTP.

9. meg's a billionaire. This 120 million is pocket change.
Which makes you wonder why someone of her means would even want this job.

12. Great study in contrasts!
She's not going to want to downgrade if she were Governor, she'd get the state to pick up the tab for her private travel.
