Just a Reminder in this year of Nationalized Campaigns

While all eyes are pointed at the House and Senate races in the background there are the Governor's races. In terms of the national interest these Governor's races would be 'Ho-humm' stuff except we just finished our ten-year census, and now its time for redistricting. For those who have forgotten the word, its "Gerrymanerding", which is the name giving to redistricting of a state with districts drawn such that the result is one Party is favored over the other in ensuing elections. Governors oversee the redistricting process in their states. So the Governor you get this time around gets to influence all of your elections for the next ten years.

The Governor's races this year matter an awful lot. They will have an effect on the next three Presidential elections and of course all of the House and Senate races in each state until 2021 or later.
