http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20101006/NEWS02/101006015/Poll-Coons-has-sizable-lead-over-O-Donnell

The conservative tea party movement that propelled U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell to a shocking Republican primary victory is not resonating with voters in the general election against Democrat Chris Coons, according to an independent poll released today.

New Castle County Executive Coons leads third-time Senate hopeful O’Donnell by 17 percentage points, according to the survey of 801 likely voters by Fairleigh Dickinson (N.J.) University’s PublicMind research group. Such a margin in the Nov. 2 election would amount to a landslide for Coons in his bid for the seat Democratic Vice President Joe Biden held for 36 years.

Coons, however, would have faced a steep uphill battle against Mike Castle, the nine-term congressman and former governor whom O’Donnell defeated in the Sept. 4 primary. Castle, who last week decided not to mount a write-in campaign that would create a three-way race, was favored by 14 points in a hypothetical match-up against just Coons.

You are all DUMBASSES who clearly do not understand how our state works. Castle WINS because he's a moderate that represents our state and not some nut-job who parrots what she was taught to say. What's funny, you out-of-staters ignored what the DEGOP was telling you - that someone as radical as O'Donnell could never win the state of Delaware. Although the Dems will lose senate seats, you idiots pretty much gave away any chance of the Republicans winning control of the Senate because those plans always included a solid win from Mike Castle.

Stay the *#%( out of my state.

1. All of the Northeast as well
The pukes can't seem to figure out that they can't win the "elitists" of the Northeast with their teabagging nutjobs. Just take a look at the numbers for that whacked out POS Carl Paladino in NY.

Love the Jesus picture BTW, I may have to copy it for some well placed email replies in the future.

2. You tell 'em, LynneSin.
We watched Rachel Maddow's show last night and were heartened by how sharp and motivated Delaware Democrats are. O'Donnel may get a couple of votes from the feeble-minded, but it looks like Delaware voters are too on the ball to let her in. Good post. :kick: & R

8. Sadly, I think she will take Sussex Co
and will be close in Kent. Coons has to really get out the vote in Wilmington and New Castle co.

11. well, considering the mood I've been in lately
crab(by) pretzel is about right.

But Lynn is absolutely right. Teabaggers got what they wanted and now the 'pubs will get theirs.

Now I'm hungry! I know what you mean about being the butt of jokes...I am originally from Oklahoma. 'Nuff said. Be strong. Chris Coons will take the seat, I have complete confidence.

17. I'm glad to have Chris Coons as our next senator however...
I hate the concept that these assholes think they can just drop a shitload of money into a state and buy an election.

As for Castle, he is a republican but he's also one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. You'd be harded pressed to find a democrat in Delaware that would say anything bad about him even if some of us still refuse to vote for him.
