forget the nickname "Gonzo"- instead Goonzales...
As I read yet another story recounting Comey's testimony, especially the part where Card and Gonzales go into Ashcroft's hospital room - I had to wonder - how many other times had these folks essentially played a "Goon Squad" trying to enforce their Boss's will?

Gonzo as a nick conjures up wild - foolish and reckless. That doesn't capture the malfeasance in the actions of Gonzales, nor does it conjure up the image of a mob enforcer - which seems to be exactly his role in the USA scandal and the Ashcroft saga. I hereby will no longer refer to Gonzales as a fool but as a Goon.

Here's to Goonzales - may his tenure in govt be short, and may he find the insides of a jail cell as a future place of residence.

2. I've been calling him "Gonzolaws" = gone are our laws. . .
ever since he decimated the rule of law, habeas corpus, and reduced the Geneva Conventions (basic human decency) to being "quaint" and fundamentally legallized sadism.

ughhh

3. They have been able to warrantlessly spy on whomever they wanted
which makes one wonder why so many Democrats have been so quiet on the Gonzales issue. Only those on the investigative committees have said anything. This vote will be interesting.

Also the news media has been very quiet repeatedly pleading that there is no story here. You can smell the fear and desperation all over that line of bull.
