The only way to demonstrate the neccesity of government is it's abscence |

Wingnuts rail against government because they can't see past the tip of their noses and imagine a world where the infrastructure and services that they take for granted does not exist.
Unfortunately we are moving towards "less" govt. and our country won't see the light until letting people starve on the street and letting whole city blocks burn because of the cost starts to make an impact on us personally.

Dude, please pull the stick out of your ass and lighten up.
Grammar police on message boards are only slightly less irritating than wingnuts.

3. Well it looks like we won't miss the regulators since they are hardly enforcing them anyway. |
|

4. I would miss roads, police, being able to send my kid to a public school, |
|
clean water, etc...
The brilliance of the right wing's 24/7 attack on government is that it only has to focus on government's failures while ignoring the daily proper functioning of government that we take for granted.

Your statement hits the nail on the head......We hear it daily and it's true you speak a lie often enough and people will begin to believe it to be true.

5. Well perhaps instead of beating people up for pointing out that the money for public services |
|
has to come from somewhere, we Dems could get the message out that taxes are necessary to pay for those services.
But that would take too much work. It's a lot easier to call someone a "libertarian" or "freeper" for talking about money.

8. Without government any nation would be in a state of permanent |
|
strife and chaos, where might is right. The strong would just take what they want from the weak. At some level of consciousness the wingnuts must be thinking of themselves as the "strong" who will simply benefit from the work of the "weak." Of course, in such a state, there wouldn't be any workers left after a while. And the "strong" would be at each other's throats. In short, self-destruct.
Well, it takes all kinds of people to make a world, including the wingnuts.
