First Lady's Kitchen Garden featured; bring your camera...
First Lady Michelle Obama's now-world famous Kitchen Garden will be in the spotlight during the Fall White House Garden and Grounds tour this year, as it was last Spring, the White House announced today. The tours will be on Saturday, October 16, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Sunday, October 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Tickets are free to the public, but are required.
The First Lady's 1,500 square foot Kitchen Garden is currently growing Fall crops, including a huge variety of lettuces, herbs, rapini, eggplant, sweet potatoes, and beans. This summer, corn was planted for the first time. Visitors will also be able to view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, the Rose Garden, the Children’s Garden, and the South Lawn of the White House while on the tour.
