I wonder if conservatives, tea baggers, etc., really know what they are complaining about when they

complain about "big government." I wonder, if you asked one of them, what would they say.

2. my experience has been, unfortunately, they don't care until they are confronted with the situation
When they have a loved one who can not obtain adequate medical-or especially dental-care or medications, when they can't afford their kid's college education, when their streets crumple into disarray, when their parks and swimming pools close...then they begin to see.

3. I have a dear friend who is a self-described libertarian anarchist, and his thinking drives me up
g.d. wall. It's everything -- people should manage their own public safety, there should be no regulation on businesses at all, traffic signals are oppressive, etc. He's always spouting crap off from the Mises Institute. He didn't used to be this way.

10. It's amazing how people can change! I see your LTTE threads all the time.
 This guy got the advantage of living in a progressive state for most of his young life, and now as turned into this angry spiteful (yet still hilarious and kind, when he's not throwing this new persona around) John Gault. It drives me up the wall.

4. They like "big government"
when it's working for them and providing services. They don't like "big government" for other people.

5. I knew a Repub once who had 8 kids. When the youngest graduated from high school,
he began to complain non-stop that he had to pay taxes for the public schools when he no longer had any kids in the public schools. Like the measly amount of his tax dollars ever really compensated the County for educating his 8 brats. They are total scum.

6. To them, big government means taxes.
They don't want to pay taxes but they want top notch services from roads, parks, libraries, schools, etc. to social security, medicare, etc. However...they don't want to pay for anyone else to have anything. If they don't use the parks then why should they pay for them. If they don't use welfare or food stamps...why should they pay for them. They have absolutely NO compassion and they have NO ability to think "what if"...

They also don't want the government to regulate businesses...EXCEPT for lawyers. They've been told by their masters that "Tort Reform" will save the world. My sister brings this up a lot. I said "yeah, you're all for limiting the amount of money a company has to pay if they're sued for knowingly producing a defective product that kills someone...unless it kills your child." She changed the subject.

8. Trying to figure out the demented, deranged, devolved mind of a conservative
is an exercise in futility.

It will only give you a mountainous sized headache.

You are much better off NOT trying to figure them out.

Just destroy them at the polls.

Sorry, Excedrin.

9. No, a lot of them are just mindlessly repeating whatever they hear on the radio or TV
Thinking over the implications and contradictions is not part of their brain function.
