Tired of watching the Corporate States of America sell you out?
Edited on Thu Oct-07-10 01:25 PM by ProudDad
Every OP that actually touches on the BASIC problems of the corrupt, meaningless "electoral" system supporting the permanent war economy propping up the Corporate States of America and the USAmerikan Global Capitalist Empire...

The real CAUSES of the misery of humans and our fellow creatures on Mother Earth...

Sinks like a stone...

Inconvenient Truths are not appreciated by the sleeping masses...

---------------------------------------------

We need a General Strike...

A General Strike from "the way things are(tm)"...

We need to being a PERMANENT power-down and downsizing of our lives. Starve the capitalist beast PERMANENTLY.

Relocalize! Change our local environments to grow our food locally and sustainably, downsize our housing requirements, secede from the interest-based ponzi scheme capitalist "economy" and build local steady state economies, provide housing, food, clothing, health care for all in our communities by our community effort and, metaphorically "eat the rich" to do it. (There are plenty of good raw materials in those MacMansions!)

Rebuild our local environments to live gently and sustainably on the Earth, to allow us all more leisure time to follow our passions instead of working more hours to fill endless manufactured needs in order to feed the capitalist machine.

We CAN destroy the forces that feed on our labor and creativity by removing our consent to allow them to do it any more...

Begin small -- reconnect with your neighbors -- and starve the beast!

Excellent. This really has to happen or we go Orwell-Double-Plus in the end, so to speak.

However, I don't know if people are ready just yet. They may need a few more degrees on the stove before the pot boils. It seems that, what with media, divisiveness and enough distractions, the collective seems to be able to dwell in hope an denial to a large degree.

There are so many reasons why what you have noted is vitally important to our collective self-interests and the stakes are unbelievably high now. That's not hard for anyone to ascertain if they are paying attention and connecting dots.

I stand behind what you said and am changing my lifestyle and looking into other ways to ride this out, as well -- as are many of the people I know. I already have pretty much nothing, so not much to lose. Their are many joining my ranks now.

One would hope that something will catalyze the masses to react and stop acting like the cattle we are being treated as in the mindset of the corporate mono-culture that spreads like cancer and kills its host eventually.

10. It is unfortunate, nez pas?
The best science tells us that we've already busted through the prerequisites for a 2 degree global temperature rise...

And are on our way to 4 to 5 degrees -- probably the tipping point...

And NOTHING is being done...

So the frogs will boil...

Our only hope is a global change in the Gestalt -- in time for the potential survival of large air-breathing mammals...

Oh, you poor, deluded man.

Do you really think the people in charge would permit that?

Do you think that Americans would be willing to sacrifice even a little bit, for anything?

A General Strike from "the way things are(tm)"?

Try and get Americans to participate for even a single day in an actual general strike, and see how that goes.

another evolutionary dead end...

I wonder what Mother Earth will come up with in the next experiment...

------------------------

Actually, in response, one does not have to leave the house in order to starve the beast...

the capitalist monster is actually rather fragile and can be defeated by a critical mass engaging in boycott.

We don't need permission from the authorities to do that...yet...

The only "permission" you need is your own...

When the economic depression really kicks in, and you will see more than just general strikes.

You will see Marley's "burning and a looting".

12. That's kind of happening all by itself.
As the corporations have been sucking our blood from both ends, we've been spending less and working toward self-sustenance.

Their short-sighted will be their downfall. As they continue to try to legislate more profits at our expense, even their clever noise-machines won't be enough to save them.

The "Great Recession" in the U.S. has actually been caused by capitalist greed -- they've stripped the average U.S. person of what meager "wealth" we used to have in order to feed the profit/interest monster and now the average U.S. person hasn't got the MONEY to keep feeding the consumption/interest machine.

These are the seeds of its own destruction that Marx remarked upon that lay within the capitalist Ponzi scheme.

The capitalist would sell you the rope you need to use to hang him...

15. In "Catch-22," Milo Minderbinder promised everyone he was ripping off they'd have a "share."
That's what we need to do in America. Ask nosy neighbor Pooty Poot: It's worked for Alaska.

K&R in memory of those who think California is a socialist republic.
