those of us in the denver tv market lost a good friend today, whether we knew him or not
Gary Wolfe, a longtime 9NEWS photojournalist, died at his Fort Collins home Wednesday night. He was 56.

Gary worked in the 9NEWS Northern Information Center for 14 years. He spent a bulk of that time partnered with his brother, Roger Wolfe, who retired four years ago.

"I was pleased and proud to watch my little brother grow into a man of good character and good humor - integrity and talent - a gentle spirit with a kind heart," Roger said. "I was privileged to be his brother and grateful to be his friend."

After his brother's retirement in 2006, Gary took on a new partner, Adam Chodak. The two worked side by side for more than three years. Their reporting of the Windsor Tornado earned the duo a regional Emmy.

i had the pleasure of working with gary for about three years. he was a kind man with a great smile and a damn fine photojournalist.

my thoughts are with his wife, family and all who knew and loved him. rest easy, gary, my life is richer for having known you.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and colleague - he sounds like a wonderful man.

RIP Gary Wolfe - thanks for your works of beauty when covering Northern CO.

2. sad... so young
He sounds like a good guy. I love the phrase "a gentle spirit"--just the words alone are soothing.
