Glenn Beck will let his neighbors' houses burn down over $75 - true story

If someone can please link Glenn Beck talking about the act of, as Keith Olbermann calls it, "A la carte government" I'll be thankful, but basically this is what he said in a video clip Keith Olbermann played today:

That in an America where a person has to pay the Firemen out of pocket (coming soon to a tea party-ruled nation near you!) in the scenario where your house and your neighbor's houses are both on fire, a person has no moral obligation to give the firemen the ok to put out the other person's house if it'll cost the first person another $75. Why? Because that bastard presumably won't pay it back!

So let's break this down some more: A person has payed $100,000 for their house and land, not including property taxes, month by month, over a 25-year period and just payed the mortgage off last month, but their house catch fire today, their home, full of sentimental value and thousands of dollars worth of property should burn to the ground because they didn't pay $75 LAST WEEK? And why isn't possible fire service included in the property tax?

Glenn Beck's world is a cold, dark place where no one feels grateful or hospitable to lend someone $75 dollars to put out their house or pay it back, I suppose never mind if there might still be people inside. It's a place where apparently no one is neighborly.

This guy won't kick in $75 a year (that's a smidgen over six dollars a month) to pay for the fire protection for his own property and pets. He knows the rules; he and his neighbors set them up years ago. He's even had his house catch fire in the past. But rather than part with his precious money, despite repeated entreaties from his neighbors and local authorities, he refuses to pay until disaster strikes. Again. At which point, he makes a frantic call and wants that same community he's snubbed for years to bail him out. I'm sure that nobody would mind if the fire department was tied up at his house and another fire broke out at someone else's house who had paid the assessment. Isn't the world supposed to revolve around his selfishness?

He apparently didn't care about his pets and property; why should anyone else?

4. What is going on in Tennessee is bizarre to say the least

I can't understand the fire departments in Tennessee letting people's homes burn to the ground. Why don't they have Volunteer Fire Dept's there like they do in other states? Our Fire Depts. have Bingo once a week. They rent out their halls for parties and weddings. They sometimes have pancake breakfasts or spaghetti dinners. They go around and collect stuff for an annual auction. And they ask for contributions each year and let people decide for themselves how much they want to give or even if they want to give. All the firemen are volunteers and they take their volunteer jobs seriously. They respond not only to fires but to accidents and during storms to road closures etc. I have seen them man chain saws to cut up fallen trees that have blocked roads or fallen on a home. They don't ask anyone for a fee for doing their job. They do it because they have a passion for helping people.
