Ever put your hands over your ears to avoid hearing right-wing bullshit?

I'm lucky, or sheltered, or reclusive, or something, since I don't hear much of it.

But I've thought of doing just this.

Or if I was in a conversation with somebody spewing right-wing bullshit, I think, "Can we talk about something else?" might be more appropriate.

1. How about talking about beer and travel money :)
Those are fun topics, and many experiences.

Been talking about that for years.

2. I usually chuckle and ask, "Do you really believe that?"
Freepers only mouth off when they think they are in the majority. Silence allows them to keep this belief. Challenging their idiocy, selfishness, and their lack of compassion shuts them. The 2 or 3 freeps in my office are cowed. They would never bring up Beck, Limbaugh, or their ilk aloud.

Works a treat.

(Not really. I don't have anyone on ignore. I want to read every last word.)

4. Nah
I live in republican hell, so I hear their crap all the time. If they persist, I usually fire a couple of loaded questions at them that I know they have no clue about, and make them look foolish so they'll shut up. Most are politically ignorant and that's why they are republicans, I assume.
I don't inject politics into my daily life. If I did I would live in a constant state of conflict, and personally, arguing with republicans is like arguing with a third grader. You get no facts or references, just what they think. They can make excuses for everything, but never offer a solution to anything, so why even bother?

17. Same here
I just don't want to fight these wingnuts every moment of every day. But I agree, one or two facts usually shut them up quickly.

5. Whether it's right-wing bullshit or anything else I don't want to hear
I walk away or tell the person to STFU as I'm not their personal audience without getting paid for it.

6. I get confrontational and fucking angry.
Just to let them know I'm not going to be one of those nice doormat "liberals" they're used to seeing on Faux or the other stations they watch. Especially when they bring up their "red menace/Euro hatred" or "redistribution of wealth" bullshit ("Demercraps = soshulism/communizm!!1!1!!"). I ain't even putting up with that nonsense for one second. All evidence points to the fact that wealth is flowing ever upward, not downward.

10. No, but I've walked out of our lunchroom.
A company lunchroom is not the place to discuss politics.

You think that the Pres of my company would know better....

12. i was told i don't support the troops,because I am against the war
i simply showed them my membership with veterans for peace, veterans for Common Sense, national coalition for Homeless Veterans,Project Helmet and my advocacy for Gulf War One veterans health care.
I then ask them how they "Support the troops".
...well...sputter.

Confront them with facts in a kind, humane manner. It throws them everytime.

13. I find if I start conversing with facts to dispute what they say
even in a friendly way they end up looking like they want to escape the evident scrutiny I seem to have them under. They're so ignorant that after spouting a couple of stuttering talking points they have no idea what to say. They're not used to being called on their facts. And if they're people I know and work with they forevermore abstain from spouting any talking points when I'm in the room. And the others who want to know something will come to me knowing I use facts to explain policies and procedures.

It's like I turn on the lights and the cockroaches scatter to the four winds.

14. that is my experience as well.
I show extreme interest in their disclosure of facts...where they got their information.."So I can learn more from your resources".I,needless to say, have resources. That is a requirement.
My area is also in the Bible Belt.I have "Bible quotes" as well.
