Her family says 7-year-old Kathleen Edward is in the final stages of a degenerative brain disorder diagnosed as Huntington's Disease - the same disease which killed her mother, Laura, when she was only 24.

A neighbor who is feuding with the family admitted to posting grim depictions of Laura and Kathleen on Facebook, and also has a coffin hitched to a pick-up truck in front of the house - which the neighbor says is for a halloween decoration.

One photo depicts Laura in the arms of the grim reaper, while the other features Kathleen's face above a set of crossbones.

She reminds me of my aunt (no relation--my uncle was my dad's brother)--never defined as mentally ill, but I believe she is, all the same. Many years ago, when I had an article published in the OpEd section of our local paper, I received a lot of letters (this was before e-mail so they were all snail mail). She sent an anonymous message, written in block letters, making fun of me, mostly what I had been like as a child. We traced it back to her because she mentioned things like the details of my parents' divorce that only a relative would know (and she was the only family member deranged enough to do something like that).

Still, people who are mentally ill like that shouldn't get a pass. They do, however, need serious help.

As for the lack of collection of fees on the county's part (which I will assume you are correct on although the cited statement makes me unsure of if I should) then why are they so unable to find the way to do so? I also remember here in Arizona we had speed cameras and they were unable to collect because of a clause in the law that gave people an out. The decision was to drop the cameras instead of fixing it to where it would be collectable. Trenton — Friends and family of a terminally ill 7-year-old girl who allegedly was tormented by a neighbor say they have received an outpouring of support from across the world.

Kathleen Edward, who is the final stages of Huntington's disease, has allegedly been the target of taunts by a woman who lives across the street. The woman, Jennifer Petkov, told Fox 2 Detroit that she posted pictures on Facebook depicting the little girl's face above a set of crossbones. The page has since been removed.

Another Facebook photo shows Kathleen's mother, Laura, who died last year of Huntington's disease at age 24, in the arms of the grim reaper.

"We're aware of the situation and are looking into it," said Trenton Deputy Police Chief James Nardone. "This has been ongoing for quite some time."

Efforts to reach Petkov by phone and in person this afternoon were unsuccessful.

Scott Petkov says he's sorry. "We apologize for our actions and stupidity. It was an ignorant thing that we did and it was basically in retaliation about things that were said about my house and my wife."

Scott's wife Jennifer doctored-up and posted photos of Laura Edward, who died from Huntington's Disease, showing her wrapped in the arms of the grim reaper. She also posted a photo of Laura's 7-year-old daughter, Kathleen Edward, who is now dying from Huntington's Disease, her face becoming the center of a skull and crossbones.
