6. Unless it's for a TV show
It's bullshit. I've been to Obama "town halls." They take whoever shows up.

2. I think no
I received an email directly from the campaign for a rally/town hall in Philly this Sunday. I think considering who it is (MTV) it's just par for the course. If they are sponsoring it . . . then perhaps they get a say?

4. lol, this can't be for real
So the Obama town hall will be made up of a large percentage of out of work actors?

5. Sounds like MTV/BET/CMT are putting this together--not a real townhall, in other words.

Actually, sounds like they're aiming for diversity. Not sure what the problem is. Edit to add: I don't think they're paying actors, sounds like they're just finding an audience.

12. I would guess when it's not a production by TV production companies.

7. They are doing a television show
How do you think they get audiences? It's not a campaign that's organizing it. And it sounds like they want diversity to have a good discussion.

It's not the same as casting a commercial with "hicky" types.

8. This is the same way they do all their "reality" tv. They will get a good cross section with
diverse views. They will pick people who represent young Americans that are of "college" age. Its not a casting call unless they are looking for actors. They are looking for people.

13. no it's not how townhalls are done. Obviously, MTV
doesn't want a bunch of older people dominating the audience so they've taken selection into their own hands. They probably want some attractive, charismatic people in the audience.

14. Talk about cherry picking!
They only want males and females.
They only want people 18 and over.
They only want people who have questions about issues.
They only want people with interests and political views.

What about about all the voters that don't fall into those categories? Who's going to stand up for the apathetic apolitical asexuals?

16. You think the Republicans will run with this?

It is a "casting call" for actors and I assume many actors who need work in the Washington, D.C. and use this job website will apply.

Well, it is job creation!

Will they be paid and if so how much?

Whhoever got this casting call ad placed should be fired. It's a really, really, really stupid idea!

18. It's free to post ads on that website
And the original on MTV says nothing about pay or casting. You are correct though right-wingers are running with it.
