4. Soonest Possible
I believe Monday being a holiday, that Tuesday morning will be the soonest I personally can do anything. I am going to the chamber here in my town to get a list of members. Then I am going to tell the chamber that I will not be shopping or doing business with any of these institutions on their list. I am going to get editorials ready for release that also tell businesses that I will be taking my business to others that are not members of the chamber. This is the only personal control I have as a human being in this messed up world. I am afraid that I live among many tea-baggers and they just do not understand. But I do get it and have been screaming this since the supreme court passed the awful decision that allowed this to happen. I am well aware that this will not be easy. But I am determined. It is my hope that businesses will see how this is going to go down and withdraw their membership.

5. US Chamber of Commerce is a different organization than your local CC
The USCC was taken over by the RW years ago; many local CCs withdrew from the USCC which was lobbying against the interests of the local Chambers. I have not kept up with this recently, but you should verify whether you local Chamber shares anything with the USCC beyond the words "Chamber of Commerce". Most don't. Just be aware of the confusion.

6. Many local Chambers of Commerce are not part of US Chamber of Commerce
Here is an example of how many local CCs are the opposite of the US CC.

The US Chamber is mostly a tool of really large corporations, not the traditional small local businesses in the local Chamber.

They are really different groups!

7. Thank you
I did not know that. You might have saved me some embarrassment. I will check mine out before I go that far. But I still think the pressure has to come from somewhere. I went to my local chamber's website, and the goals seem to be the same as the national chamber's agenda. But then again, this is Tennessee, (LOL).

8. Some more on local CCs versus US Chamber of Commerce
Mother Jones ran several articles digging into the US Chamber of Commerce mess and how it falsely claims to represent millions of small businesses. It gives some of the history of the RW takeover of the USCC and more details about the relationship between local CCs and the USCC.

These should help you get up to speed on what has been happening is these areas:
