How do you folks heal primary rifts? |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-09-10 06:04 AM by mahina
A woman who ran for State Central Committee and lost is now supporting the Republican gov. candidate. This is a very bright and interesting young woman. She has the potential to be a really big help to the next generations one day.
She says that supporters of the Democratic candidate yelled at elder people, which I would like more information/ documentation of before I really buy it.
There's a lot of scar tissue to heal between primary candidate's camps this time around, more than usual. I don't really see a lot of healing happening.
It's said to be a close race, though our guy won with a very (very, very) decisive victory.
In your state, how have you guys healed primary rifts? Any effective suggestions are invited and are most welcomed.
Mahalo.

2. Have you seen the lockstep obstructionism in Washington? |
|
Party DOES matter, it matters very much.
As for healing primary rifts, that happens over time and it doesn't happen for everyone. I still know a few hardcore Hillaryites who are clinging to spite and vowing to vote Republican, against their own interests and oblivious of the fact that she has become a very powerful part of this administration.
IMO, anyone who nurses bruised feelings and works them into pure spite has no business in politics. While this might be a bright young thing, she needs to find another line of work. Politics are not for the thin skinned and easily wounded.

4. Years ago, an elder said to me -- |
|
"Get them working together on a different project or cause or need--bring out the best in another arena."
I've been able to see that in operation many times. Shift the focus--engage in a different common cause.
Meanwhile, gotta chuckle at the idea of "healing primary rifts" being solved on DU. :D :hi:

5. Kick her out of the party. Then you will |
|
have peace among the committee members again. Seriously. She is violating the rules of the party by endorsing and campaigning for someone in another party.

6. She should had brought up the problems to the committee. |
|
And the committee should had addressed the problem by bringing up the problem with the offending campaign.
