2. My guess is the shooter should of been on meds....
Probably went off his meds; then, acted out with a gun.

Shooting Wreaks Devastation in Moscow, Idaho

By Joan Opyr, 5-20-07

Update: At a press conference late this morning, Idaho authorities revealed that the shooter had in fact killed his wife before his rampage at the courthouse and the church, bringing the death toll to three.

The gunman, who killed himself, was identified as Jason Hamilton, 37, a maintenance worker with a long history of mental illness and domestic violence. His wife, 30-year-old Crystal Hamilton, was found dead in their home with a single gunshot wound to the head. Crystal Hamilton worked at the Latah County Courthouse, where her husband unleashed a barrage of semi-automatic weapons fire Saturday night, and Jason Hamilton had done cleaning work at the church where he killed the caretaker.

Please note: long history of mental illness and domestic violence.

You will soon hear about his non compliance with medications...dellusional, paranoid thinking....rage/control issues.

Here is another report with lot's of information about Jason Hamilton.

Idaho shooter spoke of killing others

MOSCOW, Idaho — A gunman suspected of killing three people and himself said during a court-ordered mental evaluation that if he committed suicide, he would try to take a large number of people with him, police said Monday.

Three months after that conversation, authorities say, Jason Hamilton shot and killed his wife at their home, then drove downtown with two assault rifles and fired a barrage of bullets into an emergency dispatch center inside a courthouse and a parking lot outside.

Hamilton had a history of violence, and a judge ordered him evaluated after he tried to kill himself in February by overdosing on anti-anxiety medication. Hamilton told a hospital worker that if he really wanted to commit suicide, he would do it through a mass shooting or bombing, Assistant Police Chief David Duke said.

Hamilton was judged not to need involuntary commitment and was released, Duke said.

Hamilton was arrested on a felony strangulation charge in September 2005 in a case involving a girlfriend he had while separated from his wife. Hamilton was convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery of the girlfriend, who survived, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 90 days suspended, Duke said.

Hamilton was in court again last Tuesday for violating the conditions of his probation on the domestic violence conviction by halting his mental health counseling, but the case was delayed until next month, Duke said.

4. Another possibility
The irony with so many of the brain-chemistry-altering "meds" today, is that some people do crazy things ON them, while others do crazy things when OFF them.
Either way, this is a sad indication of the depression average Americans feel today.
When we must medicate ourselves, we are either suffering from an imbalance of some sort, or a deep depression. Instead of getting to the root cause of such, modern medicine just tries to give it a quick fix, often turning out to be disasterous.
IMHO, when we fix our government & the controlling organizations in our society, and our food supply, many of these "meds" won't be necessary anymore.

6. Yeah, we don't have enough shootings!
The solution to everything is more guns guns guns! Guns everywhere, all the time! Give guns the right to vote, and leave the people at home!

8. The probability is very low that it was due to medication side effects.
They cycle goes as followed: psychotic or depression....get meds....feel good, then better, then much better.....Then, the thinking goes; "I feel fine, I don't need those drugs!!! Stop taking all the meds, say for weeks, months... then...

An acute rebound response of the mental illness occurs; A crisis then fulminates with one or some of the following: suicidal/homicidal ideation, hospitalization, an arrest and/or someone one gets injured or killed.

Sounds logical.
