Scientist - Republicans will begin a jihad against climate scientists, and all science

affair, has sounded the alarm about impending Republican inquisition against climate science, and all science, in a
Washington Post Op Ed.

My employer, Penn State University, exonerated me after a thorough investigation of my e-mails in the East Anglia archive. Five independent investigations in Britain and the United States, and a thorough recent review by the Environmental Protection Agency, also have cleared the scientists of accusations of impropriety.

Nonetheless, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is investigating my previous employer, the University of Virginia, based on the stolen e-mails. A judge rejected his initial subpoena, finding that Cuccinelli had failed to provide objective evidence of wrongdoing. Undeterred, Cuccinelli appealed the decision to the Virginia Supreme Court and this week issued a new civil subpoena.

What could Issa, Sensenbrenner and Cuccinelli possibly think they might uncover now, a year after the e-mails were published?

The truth is that they don't expect to uncover anything. Instead, they want to continue a 20-year assault on climate research, questioning basic science and promoting doubt where there is none.

The average low-info voter either believes science is a direct affront to their gawd or that science produces nothing worthwhile to humanity; some hold both attitudes simultaneously.

4. The 'GOP' has amped up the crazy

--I think they are systematically trying to drive the left (especially the intelligentsia) insane, and robbing everyone while they are at it. These apparently powerful and rich people seem bent on destroying this country's infrastructure, putting ignorant people in high places and dismantling the educational system.

A method of controlling people is to break them down completely in order to reprogram them in a new form. It is the only intelligent motive I can figure out, the alternative is cultural suicide by armageddon dazed religious nuts. Either way, the dark ages II is on the horizon if they succeed.
