Suzanne Kosmas gets Orlando Sentinel Endorsement
This is big news. Kosmas handles Tom Feeney's old district which includes Seminole County. I'm pretty sure the place is jockeying for the position of most crooked county in the State but I can't say for sure because I haven't lived in all of the counties in the state. However, Kosmas' opponent coined the term "Seminole County mafia" which endeared her to me because it is the most apt description of what goes on around here.

That being said, Kosmas is a Democrat. The president is a Democrat. I think the Sentinel is correct. Kosmas can do more in bringing in federal money for the Space Coast and jobs in the area.

Here's the endorsement:

Running for re-election in a congressional district drawn to favor Republicans, first-term Democrat Suzanne Kosmas is considered one of the most endangered incumbents in the U.S. House. But Ms. Kosmas is clearly the best choice for voters in the 24th District, which spans parts of Orange, Seminole, Volusia and Brevard counties, including Kennedy Space Center.

Ms. Kosmas is a former state legislator and small business owner. Like other members of her party in this year's races, she has been portrayed by political opponents as a clone of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the top House Democrat and a liberal lightning rod.

In fact, Ms. Kosmas has broken with Ms. Pelosi and other party leaders on some key issues. This summer, for example, she joined other moderate and conservative Democrats in calling for the Bush tax cuts to be extended for all income levels. Earlier, she sponsored legislation to end the Troubled Asset Relief Program early and use $200 billion in unallocated money to reduce the deficit.

Ms. Kosmas came under attack from both liberals and conservatives on health-care reform, first voting against the House's version of the legislation, then voting for the compromise that became law. But as she pointed out, the compromise was more fiscally responsible than the House version. And while there were serious flaws in the compromise and the process that led to its passage, she's also right that the status quo in health care — costs soaring and millions of Americans without insurance — was not sustainable.

But...read on....

2. Obviously you have never lived in Volusia County, Fl.
Glad I do not live there anymore, extremely corrupt, at least it was when I lived there 10 years ago.

they recycle the same crooks around the I-4 Corridor. City Attorneys, City Managers and staff members in Public Works and Land Development.

Seminole County might just be the worst because of the manager-wannabe types who live here who get into office and use the loose ethics to do whatever they damn wanna do.
